Question from new Parrothead abt Blossom history...

I was trying to find out what the dealio was with JB not wanting to come back to Blossom (Cuyahoga Falls, OH) because of, what...the tailgating?
Our tailgating at both Pine Knob (Clarkston, MI) and Bristow, VA was pretty much off the hook, falling down the hills but well behaved grown ups eating and drinking too much. Having that excuse to be idiots, like JB sings about in his songs!
So what was the problem at Blossom?
Thanks for the history lesson from this going-on-my-first-anniversary-as-a-Parrothead-in-about-a-week JB lover!

Legend has it..........
Jimmy became upset when the police ran a sting operation in the Blossom parking lot to catch underage drinkers. The sting operation involved underage drinkers being approached by undercover female police officers. The ladies wore sexy outfits and offered thier targets "souvenir photographs". The targeted drinkers were lead to believe that the ladies would pose with them in the photos. The ladies allegedly lead the targets to into a screened off area of the parking lot where the drinkers were then arrested.
Jimmy was infuriated by such treatment of his parrot-heads so he has not returned to that venue

Maybe the "technique" was questionable, but isn't underage drinking still breaking the law?????
At Bristow, VA last year the crowd next to my wife and me were suddenly approached by uniformed police officers. To the officers' credit they politely asked for proof of age and most were underage. Most got ticketed and then spent the tailgate sulking, talking about how their parents would respond.......

I honestly couldn't feel sorry for them. They chose to break the law and got caught.

Likewise, on our beach during Spring Break, deputies as well as state ATF agents scan the beach for underage drinking. What we like is that they are given the option of arrest or the officers give them a large trash bag and ask the violators to fill'em up. Most kids opt for the thrash bag.
