Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Shriver split

Post by springparrot »

After 25 years...wow....

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0511/54635.html

Only months after leaving office, Arnold Schwarzenegger has separated from his wife, Maria Shriver, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.

According to the Times, Shriver has moved out of the Brentwood mansion that she shared with the movie star who was elected governor of California in 2003 and went on to serve two terms in Sacramento. The newspaper printed a statement from the couple in response to a query on the subject.

This really is too bad. I like them both (even though they are Republicans...that's a joke people, don't get yer panties in a wad). Being governor of Ca I 'm sure hasn't been easy - Ca has had it rough the past few years.

So....do you think either of them utter the words "I'll be back" or "Get out" duting any of this? (Another joke people, don't take it so seriously...) 8)

Only the governator is a Republican... Maria Shriver is as Democrat as they come, her mother was JFK's sister.

People who ask me what I’m doing tomorrow probably assume that I even know what day of the week it is.

I dunno........ TMZ is reporting she's been miserable for years and tired of his womanizing. They're reporting she wanted to split back in 2009.

Life's just too short to be in a marriage unhappy. If they think they can work it out great. I hope they do what's best for them.

I'm just sick of hearing it all over the news and radio here...you'd think there was nothing else happening in the world.

It is sad, especially for their kids, but I don't think either of them were easy to live with. A friend of mine left teaching several years ago to become a nanny for them. She came back to visit us and without spilling a lot of beans made it clear that it was much tougher dealing with Maria than Arnold...she didn't make it easy to enjoy working for her. I do remember an Arnold story she told though. My friend had just picked up the kids from school and brought them back home to the house in Brentwood. All of the sudden a paparazzi helicopter swooped down very low over the estate. My friend screamed and hit the deck, she thought they were being attacked. Arnold heard her scream and came running out and saw her on the ground, ran over and picked her up like a football (she was a little bit of a thing) and carried her to the house.

Hope it all works out for the best...whatever that may be.

I too find it sad, and surprising. But, when you talk about stressers in life, the last few years have been full of them--losing both her parents, her uncle Teddy, and Arnold leaving the governorship, that is a lot of change and stress to put on a relationship, and often, the response to that is a dramatic change in lifestyle. I hope they both find some peace and happiness.

Unfortunately what leads in newscasts these days has more in common with what one associates with tabloid fluff than things that are actually newsworthy. John Prine had it right many years ago when he wrote, "blow up your TV, throw away your paper...". I, for one, have never become emotionally invested in any celebrity, much less Ahnold and Maria.
