Anyone wearing that shirt shouldn't be trying to get in anyway.

Yep! Certainly a no-win situation......Maybe someone over at JLL will come to their senses before the venue turns into more townhouses and a few strip malls........ :-? although.......I do believe in karma.......... [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Select quotes from the anti-Talilgating FB page:
The parking lots did open until 3pm which was just 75 minutes before the show began
Traffic was backed up for more then two miles and remained backed up until after 6pm!!!
No one was aloud to hangout in the parking lots at all!!!
Beer inside the venue was selling for $13 a cup.

There also may be more on the Who's going to Bristow thread.

The best *Civil Disobedience* protest suggestion I've heard .....

1. Wait in line at a concession stand.
2. Order two (2) large draft $13 adult beverages.
3. Once poured, decline them saying you no longer want the drinks due to a
"change in your drinking policy which JUST NOW occurred".
4. Smile politely and walk away.

They are just gonna sell em to the next guy in line.
Although if you could get a couple of dozen people to line up behind you and do the
same thing that might make a point. :D

urlcenter wrote:This past weekends first event at Jiffy Lube Live in Manassas VA was the first under the new Tailgating Ban. It was far from successful as a number of reports on the anti tailgating ban FB page indicate. In order make sure people are aware especially Buffett fans, I have compiled a number of the more shocking and upsetting reports below:

Danni Zuralow
The police at JLL were giving my friend a citation for "not pouring her drink out fast enough." In addition, another one of my friends was escorted out of the parking lot for defending her. He was not drinking or had any drink in hand, was literally escorted out for arguing with them. Both had their tickets taken away. I also saw people tailgating after the concert in the parking lot and no one had anything to say about that...hmmmm interesting.

Ken Brown
I sat in traffic on Wellington Rd for almost two hours trying to reach a parking lot at JLL. I am another one that bought the package and will only go to these last four shows and not return to JLL. JLL you may have me hostage for these next four shows, but after that--you have lost me until I can get to JLL anytime in the afternoon and not sit in a car burning $4 a gallon gas just trying to get to a concert. JLL you screwed the country concert goer this year, but I believe over time the country concert goer will tighten the screw on you!!!!!

Rich Nichols
I love in the neighborhood right off Wellington and I have never seen traffic backed up that far! This is ridiculous and outrageous. Local homeowners as well as concert spectators are p***. The new policy does jack but put more DUIs on the road before the concert. People can barely afford gas and yet they are forcing them to sit an idle while gas is being sucked up. Killing the economy even more! They need to rethink this s*** fast!

Scott Bridge
NEVER going to JLL again.. pulled in the parking lot and got out an ipod dock.. was there for 30 seconds and cops rolled up and made us leave our car and go to the gates.. such *****. i cant even stand at my car and listen to music. the no tailgating policy is s*** and unless it changes ill be finding concerts elsewhere.

Beth Foley Hicks
I was the 3rd vehicle in the VIP parking lot. Put the canopy up over the bed of the truck and within 5 mins 2 cops and a parking lot attendent told us to take it down. Weren't even drinking and still had to move to the picnic tables to even eat. What a bust of a night! Thank goodness I don't have the entire season of concerts this year.

Sara Johnson
So much sitting in traffic we actually counted the number of people jumping out of cars to pee in restaurants, construction port-o-potties, the woods, or on their own car! In a little over 2 hrs sitting in traffic, 21 people! Oh, couldn't believe they actually UPPED the price of a plastic cup of beer to $13! They didn't get a penny from me :)

Beth Leikus
Traffic added 2 HOURS to our trip last night we missed Steel Magnolias and Sonny Sweeney!!! I think you guys need to learn something about customer service you've got our money now you couln't care less what happens!!! This was the WORST concert experience We've ever had and you definately won't get another dime from me!!!!

Tommy Kohler
took forever to get in, had to go right into the venue, sat around in the hot sun forever waiting for it to start at freaking 730, no tailgating, completely destroyed the whole atmosphere of the concert, they even had freaking horse mounted police in the lots... not going back again until they change the policy.

Andrea Fisher
YEA WE GOT THE TICKETS WE HAD THEM IN OUR HANDS BUT WHEN WE GOT TO THE TICKET GATE THEY SAID "YOU NEED TO GO TO THE BOX OFFICE YOUR TICKET HAS BEEN REFUNDED' SO WE WENT AND THEY SAID TO US {WE HAD THE RECEPTS BANKS STATEMENTS EVERYTHING} 'SORRY SOMEONE CANCELLED YOUR TICKETS BACK IN MARCH AND YOU CANT BUY ANYMORE THEIR ALL SOLD OUT' WE WERE OUTRAGED. NEVER EVER GET TICKETS FROM LIVE NATION. AND THE FUNNY THING IS WE WERNT THE ONLY ONES THAT THIS HAPPENED TO.

Bob Klem
So they ran out of water and gatorade towards the end of the show? Public safety my ass!

Erik Althoff
Apparently Jiffy Lube Live officials were so strictly enforcing their new tailgating policies that, even though the local police were OK with it, a 7 months pregnant woman wasn't allowed to wait in her car with the A/C on. Shortly after they were informed, JLL management escorted the woman and her husband to the gate.

Melanie Cross
The WMZQFest was just awful. There were plenty of cops and Alcohol Control Patrol with their stupid clipboards roaming around, but then the bathrooms were disgusting, with no hand soap, paper towels, TP...just gross. Then, waiting 45-min to get a revolting hamburger and buying $13 beers. I'll be getting rid of my tickets and not purchasing any new ones. Shame on Jiffy Lube - very bad call!

Amanda Sellers
Yeah I saw a girl throwing up in the bathroom sink, and another fell flat on her back in the middle of the walkway. Looks like that policy is working wonders....

Bobby Chialastri
We rented a school bus and came from Maryland. When we (37 people) got there four cops came up and made us get off the bus and go inside. Total BS! JLL sucks!!!

thanks for compiling those comments, url. It still just floors me that in such a tight economy JLL would make this decision which clearly is literally repulsive to concert goers (their CUSTOMERS). Guess they figure they'll make up for the lost ticket revenue/fee by selling $13 beer. For $13, I sure hope you get about a half GALLON of beer, but I'm thinking it's more like 12 ounces. Geez. I think I speak for many when I say that there just are not enough "eye rolling" emoticons to express our exasperation about this retardedness.

From a few other comments on the FB page the beers were 24oz cans!!

Also there was one concert goer whose car was hit by another car in traffic by someone who was tailgating in his car on the way to the show. The accident caused $6500 dollars damage to the guy whose car got hit!! Between the accident and the tickets for the show they guy was out over $7000 before he even got in the parking lot!!!!

The majority of Buffett concert goers dont read the internet or attend other shows. There will be a giant cluster $%# when that show comes around and people go insane on the "cops" trying to stop them from tailgating.

I really think if they dont repeal this policy that Jimmy will never be back there.

They may not read the internet but all they have to do is read their tickets. People here on BN who were planning on going to the JLL show have said "NO TAILGATING" was printed on the tickets. Anybody who goes to the show knows the deal.

All due respect, how many people actually read their tickets. Maybe while they're waiting in traffic to get into the show, out of boredom, but I don't think many people actually look at them other than to see what their seats are.

I read my tickets as soon as I received them,
which of course was AFTER I paid for them,
and which was the FIRST TIME the NO TAILGATING
change in policy enforcement was disclosed to me.

Had that been disclosed prior to my purchase,
their likely would have been NO ticket purchase.
