Maybe we could get a Ustream video simulcast from Nissan to the screens at Merriweather where we could party on the lawn and all get sloppy. Anyone know how much would IMP charge to rent that venue for a lawn party?? They'd probably charge us for parking knowing our luck.bravedave wrote:F that noise!

I wonder if Jimmy should send his camera crew out through the parking lots pre show and capture all the "Non Tailgaiting" activity and play it on the big screen during an intermission. How do you think that would go over?

As I have said before. No Tailgaiting. No Alcohol has ALWAYS been the official policy at Nissan/Jiffy Grease
ever since the place opened. The same is true for many venues. Signs everywhere.
THIS year ... they decided to enforce it, apparently.
Small print on a website I don't visit is a backasswards CYA on their part. Sux and is underhanded.
Live Nation/TicketMaster have my email address.
They've had it for years ever since I first registered to buy a ticket online many moons ago.
They send me emails about upcoming concerts and whatnot at least once a week.
Did they send me info about their new *change in policy* at Jiffy Lube Live?
Nope.
No one ..... media included ..... expected this until after tickets went on sale.
are you not grasping?

I dont visit my venues website. I dont know about the rest of you. Also I did not purchase my tickets for this event online where by some chance I would have read that. I purchased my tickets at a ticket b@stard retail outlet. They did not say anything to be about this being enforced or even being printed on the tickets at the time of purchase. I had never looked at my tickets until I became aware of this throught this website.aeroparrot wrote:From what I read on the article, the information was available on their website in February, tickets didn't go on sale until March or April. I really think if they dont repeal this policy that Jimmy will never be back there.
which of course was AFTER I paid for them,
and which was the FIRST TIME the NO TAILGATING
change in policy enforcement was disclosed to me.
Had that been disclosed prior to my purchase,
their likely would have been NO ticket purchase.

They're thinking about offering "The Jimmy Buffett Non-Experience" tickets next year for $50...
No tailgating AND NO entry to the concert venue!
You drive into the lot, don't stop your car, and immediately drive out.

Re: So, looks like jiffy lube live is serious
From the article that was linked here.
A number of fans said they’d bought a five-concert “Megaticket” package before the policy was announced, and wouldn’t have done that if they’d known. The spokesman said the initial policy change was posted on Jiffy Lube Live and Live Nation’s web pages on Feb. 16, in the Megaticket FAQs and on the print-at-home tickets. Local news media only recently began reporting the change.
Now why would I look in those sections? Its buried.

Here is another story from last Saturday 5/21 from the concert at Jiffy Lube Live.
From the FB page:
Brandon Seher
On Saturday I got there with several friends around 5:00 and weren't standing outside of our car for more than 2-3 minutes before having some JLL employees roll up in a golf cart and tell us we had to go inside. I mean, really? Why didn't they just whip out some cattle prods while they were at it. For a business SO concerned about the safety of their attendees, why did I witness dozens of people stumbling around on the lawn after having a healthy amount of their $11-$13 beers? If JLL was REALLY serious about their intentions, they'd bar alcohol from their venue altogether. But no, that'd be too much of an impact to their bottom line. Instead they've created a policy designed to help it in guise of "public safety".
Debating if I want to cancel my Buffett tickets by disputing the charge on my credit card. Let JLL/Live Nation eat the VISA/MC transaction fee for being completely ignorant and narrow minded in their policies, and get none of my money on top of it.

good luck disputing credit card charges, anyone. Think about it. First: there are there time limits to do such things. Second, and most important: what reason are you going to give for disputing the charge? "I can't tailgate in the parking lot before the show and they won't let me in until right before the show starts?" Seriously.
Now IF you go and due to the parking "mess" you can't actually see the whole show, you MIGHT have a snowball's chance. But again, consider that there are filing deadlines for disputing charges. At that point, it will be months after you made your charge. Check you credit cards terms and conditions.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"
