BN Badges (or Why I Hate Kinkos)

I just ran down to the Kinkos to have my badge laminated so I'd have it for my Duckett excursions this weekend and Kinkos refused to laminate it without a letter of permission from the "owner of the company". I swear she was acting like I was trying to sneak backstage at the concert. Try explaining to somebody who can barely work a copy machine that it's a name badge for users of a message board on a website and your head might explode in 30 seconds.

You see when I am faced with such a situation, I simply ignore the truth and tell 'em I am the owner.
I mean what proof would I carry that I run a website?
Of course if they asked for something like a business card, point at the card you want laminated...

No WAY! Well that's just poopy!!!! Maybe you could get something similar at an office supply store (heavy plastic that you adhere to each side of the nametag)?.....but then again it's almost time phor you and Duckett to start the block party...

I had mine laminated at Staples, they didn't give any grief whatsoever.

I bought an inexpensive hot laminating machine at Staples years ago.
A small one, relatively cheap that handles small items like badges,
luggage tags, small photos ... anything up to 5" wide.
A decent little investment for things like this.
I did dozens of Critterpalooza badges last year and the year before.

I went to another Kinkos after all of the festivities last night and there was a self-service laminating machine. Even the clerk there thought it was silly of her not to have laminated them in the first place. When he went to ring up my purchase their system was updating and it was going to be 30 min before he could do anything so I got them done for free.
In hindsight, I should have just lied and told her I "was" the company, but it caught me off guard and I had no idea she would deny service. Seriously...who does that?

Oh, no!!! How would you even be able to attempt to sneak backstage without your CREDENTIALS???

Once at a Keith Urban concert here somebody had directed me to cut through somewhere on the main floor. I wound up walking around backstage for a while before I stopped and asked somebody how to get out.
