Long before you ever strolled into a surplus store to buy your own Navy issued bit of sailor sex appeal, he was making blue wool and slash pockets look hard. It subtly whispered of his enlisted adventures at sea, never told of his port to port happenings and was filled with a rich salt water spray musk. His jacket choice is the reason old man winter has fashion sense and why the wind wasn’t the only person frost biting your mom’s neck.

So hipsters, next time you’re flipping up the collar on your stolen style outerwear while trying to smoke an American Spirit cigarette and still look indifferent to the climatic conditions, remember this…

P.S. Fat hipsters with beards who wear pea coats look like Paddington Bear.
