The consolidated writings of popcornjack

I've been trying to find a way to be able to put out new writing for people here to read without starting a new thread every time, and I finally decided to do this. If you already follow my writings via facebook, this will be redundant, but for those of you who aren't (Jon, I'm looking at you) here you go. (I'm just trying to reach as large an audience as possible. [smilie=sillyjester.gif] [smilie=sillyjester.gif] [smilie=sillyjester.gif] [smilie=sillyjester.gif] )

Whenever I have something new, I simply put up a new post in the thread. There are a few different categories on my website. The newest one is from the "Good Time Charlie" part of my world, a section I created to talk about things to do, places to go, etc., to help you enjoy life. It's called Starry Starry Night

To catch everyone up (not that you couldn't just poke around my website when you get there) I'm going to archive here what's already been posted. Other entries from the Good Time Charlie are An oasis in the middle of everything, A nice place...if you can find it, For those who need a little soul (and funk and ska) in their lives, Two for the price of one, and Are you looking for a safe house?

The bartender section is where you can find specific drink recipes, as well as some history and background into the world of bartending. Some of the drinks are classics, others are my own invention, and they include The Velveteen Rabbit, The Ricktini, The Blue Pineapple, The Orange Gingersnap, The Capt. Courageous, The Aviation, Rosemary's Baby, The Tuaca Tonic, The Bronx Cocktail, and a new take on an old favorite, The Margarita.

There's the author section, a place to read both my short stories and essays: Last Call, A New Beginning, My Friend Adrian, It's French Open Time, Pond shoes, Finding new feet, learning new things, Tools of my Father, The friends we know, but don't, and Nothing to fear except what we choose to

And of course this wouldn't be complete if I didn't include a link to to where you can buy the book Chasing Ghosts

I want to thank everyone who has read and commented. It helps to have an outlet like this to keep me writing, keep me growing and moving forward with it. I'm always up for suggestions, so let me know what you want to read and I'll do my best to entertain you.

Yes, I did...and I knew what you meant.

Actually, I kind of liked the original title better...but I understand how it might cause some confusion.

Can't wait to read all of your new work, Jack! :D :D :D

New drink I've been working on, a nice crisp pear based vodka martini for those of you who don't like it so sweet. The Pear-fectly delicious

Also I have a drink making competition coming up this Sunday featuring tequila, so wish me luck, and I'll share that recipe with you next week.

I had one of those in Ft Myers last year - I'm not a martini drinker but it was YUMMY, you can make me one of those!

something simple, something good.. three fingers of Milagro Single Barrel Reserve Anejo, in a brandy snifter. wave a cigar over the mouth of the glass. Some things, like Jennifer Anniston in an LBD and single strand of pearls, never go out of style.

New drink I came up with for the competition this past weekend. (You can read all about it in the blog post.) I plan on having this available at Great Woods and hopefully Camden.

Strawberry Fields
