WAR's coming to the Kessler

So, I just got a FB invite to see Willis Alan at the Kessler Theatre (in Oak Cliff) on Sunday, June 13.

His lovely wife, Alison Rogers, will open.

Guy Clark played there last year and the interview/music format is really special.

Hope some of you in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area can be there.

Sadly, no. It's 450 miles ... and it'll be hotter than the hinges of hell. I can't do the heat anymore. Just can. not. do. it. I know it will be a great moment in Texas music, though!

Here's a 1990 clip of WAR doing SLEEPWALKING on Texas Connection. At about the 4:00 mark, the camera pans to a shot of Lyle Lovett ... look at the way the kid is watching every thing WAR does. And listen to the crowd's reaction ... they know a good thing when they hear it.
