I know there are a few Scott Kirby fans here so I thought ya'll might enjoy this. :D My 10 year old son Fletcher played Scott's song It's All About The Girl at a friend's wedding reception yesterday. It was the perfect song for the occasion!

Thanks Barbara! I think he rocks too but my opinion is probably a little bit biased. The groom is a friend of ours that is a pretty awesome guitar player in his own right and graciously gave Fletcher lessons for free when he first started playing 2 years ago, so it was really special for Fletcher to be able to dedicate this song to them.

He also likes to play this song for open mic night at a local tiki bar/restaurant and usually dedicates it to one of the cute bartenders or waitresses, so yes he has already figured out that boys with guitars get a lot of attention from the girls. 8) We are going to be in so much trouble in a few years when teenage hormones get added to the mix. :o

Has Scott seen this???? He's probably looking for performers at his new Smokin Tuna Saloon in KW (http://smokintunasaloon.com/).

This could be the start of a promising career.....and remember who suggested it! I've always wanted to be a music manager......

Not only has Scott seen this but the boy has already had an opening gig for Mr. Kirby. 8) When Fletcher first wanted to learn this song, he had picked all of it out by ear except one part had a chord he didn't know at the time, so I contacted Scott on FaceBook, told him about Fletcher and asked what that one chord was. Last year when Scott was touring the country, my dad booked him to play in my hometown in Oregon. I told dad he didn't have to hire Scott Kirby just to get me to come home for a visit...but it certainly didn't hurt.  Scott was gracious enough to let Fletcher play a few songs before the show! He's a class act guy...Fletcher walked away not only with the memory of opening for one of his favorite musicians, but he also got an autographed copy of Row Me Home, an autographed "It's All About The Girl" baseball cap and an official Jimmy Buffett tour guitar pick from 2007.

We'll be down in Key West in October for Texas On The Key (http://www.brianburnsmusic.com/totk.htm) and will definitely be visiting the Smokin' Tuna!

As far as the musical career...I'm sure we'll be taking applications for an agent soon.  He has a couple places here in town he plays at regularly and he just scored his first major media interview with the folks over at RumTherapy.com! 8)
