So life isn't great, but getting better, when I'm out and the band started playing Mexico. It just makes me miss you guys. If he does sinethi weird this year, can we still go to the Cape?
I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.
She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

That is why I have a "keeps" folder in my email. i don't open anything relating to reservations, so it looks like something unread so I can't forget it.ScarletB wrote:I have reservations all over the place, i sure hope I remember to cancel the ones I won't need!lime rickie wrote:With Alpine Valley's rumored 6/30 date that kind of makes sense.Saltx3 wrote:lime rickie wrote:Since yesterday, Comfort Inn's on line rate for the weekend of 6/23 jumped from $120 to $135.

Tommy, I read that post to mean the same thing as Gunthermoose calling the Sand Bar to see if they've heard anything since they have had a party where the Reefers play for the last few years. I can't imagine them being "allowed" to play in one place and not another. That bar may have connections with AV and hear the skinny before anyone else. I don't think it means they're playing there and not here.TommyBahama wrote:I Could see also Indy , Pittsburg and Cincy around then....most years thats how he usually schedules his tour....but he did do Alpine after GW last year i believe.....what i saw on the Alpine thread, was Coral Reefers scheduled to Play......Jimmy would let them do there own thing there , but not in MA!!lime rickie wrote:With Alpine Valley's rumored 6/30 date that kind of makes sense.Saltx3 wrote:lime rickie wrote:Since yesterday, Comfort Inn's on line rate for the weekend of 6/23 jumped from $120 to $135.

Interesting news for sure. The last 2 years they've played at a bar in Taunton. I'll miss that show. Although, having said that, I think Tam & Chris will come up with something at another local place that's a lot closer to where everyone is staying.Carolinadreamin' wrote:gunthermoose wrote:Just in from the Sandbar....

me personally.....i have that feeling, he will!!!......i also really don't see a name change in the tour , seems late in the game now....if he's booked through March....i could be wrong ( wouldn't be the 1st time) , just the vibe i get with what i see coming out.mshaw166 wrote:Do you think he wil take a break and come to GW later in the year? So far he has nothing for April or May so I don't see why he wouldn't do some in June - GW still has the 22nd open.mshaw166 wrote:Do you think he wil take a break and come to GW later in the year? Re: Greatwoods, Tweeter, Comcast, FOXBORO MASS 2012!!!!
Wow, has it really been since June since my visit and post here?
What is this Monday show at Great Woods nonsense? No way, right? He had a tough enough time selling out a single Saturday show last year, no way it is a Monday show this year ..... !
Anyway .... to be safe last week I booked a room the weekend of June 22nd at The Comfort Inn, Red Roof Inn and the Courtyard in Foxboro. I'll stay where the party is and cancel the other two hotels. Looks like the Red Roof is in the party hotel lead which is great, it was the cheapest of the three, just $80 per night with AAA.

Re: Greatwoods, Tweeter, Comcast, FOXBORO MASS 2012!!!!
I still find it odd that Buffett went from selling out 130,000 tickets at Gillette Stadium in 2007 where people had to pay 40$ - 50$ dollars to park and a show a Mohegan Sun (where tickets were 200$ - 300$ face value) that sold out with a ton of Parrot Heads who just tailgated and then drank at Maragaritaville (individual bar tabs easily at 200$ - 300$
) to one show at Great Woods that didn't sell out a capacity of less than 20,000 seats and lawn area.
The two most popular pieces of rationale for this are:
1. The new uncovered seats at Great Woods where the majority of the lawn used to be that cost the same amount of money as a front row seat. I disagree. 90% of the seats at Gillette sucked. Factor in the cost for parking and you basically have the same cost as an uncovered seat at Great Woods. Not to mention, the uncovered seats at Great Woods, as bad as they are, are better than Gillette that sold out 110,000 more tickets.
2. Economy. I disagree. Unemployment rates around New England have remained consistent from 2007 until now (a two second google search will show you this - actually more people are working now) and other events like Kenny Chesney and the New England Patriots still sell out (neither are cheap tickets).
Synopsis: Jimmy needs to stop playing Cheeseburger in Paradise. Us New Englanders have heard that sh*t far too many times. It. Needs. To. Die.

Re: Greatwoods, Tweeter, Comcast, FOXBORO MASS 2012!!!!
i disagree on the Economy part...i've been out for a year now ( CT has one of the highest unemployment rates in the US). Cost are a lot higher since 2007 , Gas is ridiculasly high compared to 2007....i can't complain about Gillette , i had 2nd row for both shows...as for the parking , i stayed at the End Zone the 1st show , Parking was included , 2nd show, i went on a bus , which was cheaper then what Gillette charged , plus, saving the cost on having to get a Hotel Room!!.drunkpirate66 wrote:I still find it odd that Buffett went from selling out 130,000 tickets at Gillette Stadium in 2007 where people had to pay 40$ - 50$ dollars to park and a show a Mohegan Sun (where tickets were 200$ - 300$ face value) that sold out with a ton of Parrot Heads who just tailgated and then drank at Maragaritaville (individual bar tabs easily at 200$ - 300$) to one show at Great Woods that didn't sell out a capacity of less than 20,000 seats and lawn area.

Re: Greatwoods, Tweeter, Comcast, FOXBORO MASS 2012!!!!
I think it is horrible that you are out of work and I sincerely wish you the best in the upcoming year for employment but mass groups of people are spending their money on many things that are not practical (like Kenny Chesney and New England Patriots tickets who both sell out consistently and Patriots tickets are uber expensive). The fact is in 2007 Jimmy Buffett sold 130,000 tickets at Gillette and sold out Mohegan Sun. Jimmy Buffett is now down 110,000 tickets in sales from that point and can't sell out Great Woods on a Saturday. Springsteen sold out the Boston Garden in like 4 minutes. As did the Foo Fighters. People are spending their money. They just aren't spending it on Jimmy Buffett like they used to.TommyBahama wrote:i disagree on the Economy part...i've been out for a year now ( CT has one of the highest unemployment rates in the US). The only realistic reason for this is Cheeseburger in Paradise. It is that bad.

Re: Greatwoods, Tweeter, Comcast, FOXBORO MASS 2012!!!!
Gillette s*cked - period. If Jesus chose that as his return to earth site I'd still think twice before going.
The generally higher cost of day to day "stuff" like gas and heating oil etc has probably had some impact - but the sellout crowds for ZBB and Cheney may be a result of the fact that for the most part, their tickets are cheaper and therefore more affordable for a lot of people. Vermont is lucky, our unemployment rate has stayed well below the national average.
Having said that I still agree that Cheeseburger needs to go along with a few other songs off the Yellow album - and yeah I "get" that he feels he HAS to play those - but really WHY Jimmy? You don't need the money anymore, may as well play whats fun for you and let the chips fall where they may.
Even with all that, we're all still sitting here champing at the bit for our GW dates so something must be right!
