Alpine Valley Saturday

First time to Alpine, rules say they don't open up for tailgating till 3 pm, or purchase a special parking pass to get in at 1 pm. Does anyone know, do you buy these early passes at parking lot, or where? Is 1 pm really as early as tailgating begins or are there other options? Any tailgate info would be greatly appreciated, driving up Friday from KC, and would like to have a plan for Saturday!

Thanks, and we'll see all incoming Parrotheads on Saturday!

You buy the parking pass at the gate only, the "open" time is always a debate with Alpine, generally they have started opening up at around noon because of traffic issues.

Alot of pholks stage for pretailgating at Hemingways. This year Ilo will be doing a preshow set from noon to 1p, its free and only 15 mins to Alpine. Most everyone cuts out of there between 1-130 and are generally setup and tailgating by 230 at Alpine.

Any locals give me a heads up on highway d west of the venue? Normally I 'sneak' into the west lots by heading up bowers road, but I just got an email saying that highway d is closed west of the venue??? Doesn't seem possible that it could be closed at bowers, since that's where I-43 dumps in?.

Also, they usually start letting you in by 1. I've been there as early as noon and gone in. Of course there's the up charge, but with 30,000 tickets sold this year, earlier WILL be better.

Just watch out for Walworth Countys Best. They love to give it to FIBs, or any other "Immigrants" not from Wiscons.h.i.t.
