If you do the toll by plate thing the tolls are a little higher and there's a $2.50 service charge. you'd probably be better off with the prepaid sunpass, no service charge and the tolls are usually $0.25 less per toll booth. The minipass is only $4.99 and as soon as you put money on the account they give you a $4.99 credit, so the transponder ends up being basically free. Just load enough on it for your trip and then you don't have to worry about getting a bill later. Even if you never use it again, the convenience and few bucks you save on that one trip might be worth it.

And just to help you with a quick price comparison here...last year when I drove down for MOTM, starting up here in Stuart (about 30 miles north of Palm Beach) and taking the Turnpike all the way down to Homestead cost $7.05 in tolls with the SunPass. So if they are only charging you $7/day for the days you actually use toll roads, that may not be too bad but if they are going to charge you $7/day for the whole week you are in KW, you would definitely be getting screwed! You'd be better off renting the car for the day just to drive to KW, turning it in when you get there and using cabs/scooters/bikes etc to get around, then rent a car for the day just to get back up to the airport at those rates.
I got the impression they were charging $7/day of the rental when I checked a couple sites. that would definitely s*** compared to $7/day travelling

another "profit stream". At that rate, I'd be getting off and on at every exit to make it worth it. :D
