Woman Wakes Up At Her Own Funeral, Then Dies
After mistakenly being declared by doctors, Fagilyu Mukhametzyanov woke up at her own funeral, had a heart attack from the shock and died.

I knew this girl made of memories and phrases, who lived her whole life in both chapters and stages.
Danced 'til the dawn, wished all her worries away.
She's a long way from a West Nashville grand ballroom gown.

So I take it Russia doesn't "prepare" bodies for burial, eh?!

Kazan (where the story is reported out of) is in Tartarstan, fairly even split between Orthodox Christianity and Sunni Muslim with the usual sprinkling of other major religions making up a very small slice of the remainder. If she "died" at home, who is to say they would have performed an autopsy, and even further into the sticks, it might have been even more perfunctory on the checks for vital signs. She goes down in a coma, they make the assumption she died, prep the body by washing and wrapping, etc; and pop her in the box for the wake/funeral.tigzoe wrote:So I take it Russia doesn't "prepare" bodies for burial, eh?!
Just guessing.

Did anyone else notice she was 49???????!!!!!!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

I am guessing "just rub some dirt on it, you'll be fine" isn't gonna work in this case..Carolinadreamin' wrote:Did anyone else notice she was 49???????!!!!!!![]()
and 49 is old by 3rd World standards, especially in a backwater former republic of the USSR

Lil ones nothing. It would have scarred everybody in the room. Honestly. Can you imagine being at a funeral and the person wakes up? It's hard to imagine because of the processes bodies undergo in preparation for burial here, but I imagine more than one person in the room fainted.ragtopW wrote:at least she was surrounded by those she loved..
