Wow what a brutal TDF this year. Big crashes avery day with 7 riders DNF because of crashes, and 2 breakaway riders hit by a freaking media press vehicle. Here is an aftermath picture of the rider that was sent flying into a barberd wire fence today. Sure hope he can heal enough on the off day.

Well we the viewer were lucky. The team car had an extra pair of bibs who could change into. :)

I was watching when it happened. Made me sick to my stomach. Did he start today? They said he had to have a LOT of stitches.

This race has scared me with the number of horrific crashes.

Chris Horner went down with about 20 miles to go. When he crossed the finish line and got back to the bus, he kept asking "Did I finish?" EGALF ... the race doctor let him ride like that. I understand he said, "Put me back on the bike." JM&J. The man rode 20 miles like that. Race doctor said they stayed with him, but he rode the rest of the race that way.

Vino's out with a broken pelvis. Several out with broken collar bones, wrists. Contador's sat down on the road more than he's ridden it ... Levi surfed a guard rail and Kloden is beat to hell.

Am interested to see what today brings.

ETP, he started and finished. Retain his Polka Dot jersey also because a teammate was on the breakway taking most of the King of the Mountain points thereby keeping others from passing him up.

Can you believe it? TdF riders are something very special.

Did you see the sprint this morning? In the pouring rain? As far as I know, no one went down.

Tomorrow, the mountains. It's going to be interesting to see who has something left in their legs. Who will be the hot shoes on Luz-Ardiden? :-)

Will for whatever reason Contador struggled on the final climb. i hope he continues to struggle. I just do not think he should be in the tour this year witht he doping case not resolved.

Can you imagine if he won this year's TDF and a week or two later he loses his appeal? Then that would be the last 2 TDF titles he had to vacate. The rightful winners of the last two tours would have been depreived of the glory of standing on the podium in the yellow jersey on the last day.

Contador is getting no mercy. The peleton has a long, long memory.

Was happy to see Frank do so well yesterday ... that was a great race to the top. Was happy for Sanchez, too.

The Tour de France will always be an interest to folks that live around me. The winner several years ago who was stripped of his title (Floyd Landis) grew up about 5 miles from were I live and graduated from the high school I did. His Mom and Dad are "Plain People" (Mennonites) so that whole international press nature of this was I'm sure very hard on them. At the time of the race I know they didn't even have a TV so they watched the coverage at a neighbors house. After the drug incident I guess they were glad not to have a TV :D

Fabulous mountain stage goes to Thor Hushovd, who is a sprinter! Loved it.

Now the TDF is getting interesting. Other then the crashes and the sprints, it has been a boring tour. Seeing Contador attack today was awesome. I don't like the guy, and still do not think he should be riding the tour this year. That being said he maid todays race interesting, and I loved Cadel Evans response to the attack.

I cam into the tour wanting Andy Schleck to win because I figured he had the best chance of keeping Contador out of yellow at the end. The guy is a basically a cry baby. Complaining about this and that. Definitely want Cadel Evans to win now.

Great stage today. Andy powered to the top of the Galibier ... Voeckler kept yellow ... but to me, the man was Cadel Evans. Impressive.

Tomorrow, Alp 'd Huez.

I'm not a fan. Not. One. Bit.

The blogs are full of speculation that the peleton gave him a hard time this year. They have a long memory, those guys.

Maybe this will get his attention ... or not.
