What is buffeting??

I keep seeing commercials for Dyson's Air Multiplier, and hearing "No blades. No buffeting."

Pronounced just like "Buffetting", which of course most of us know the meaning of, and happen to enjoy!

Those fans are pretty neat, sometimes a regular fan makes a noise as the blades strike against the air. For an extreme case, think of that noise a helicopter's blades make. Mrs. Chip's car will do that, if you roll the back windows down about 1/2 way and travel at the wrong speed.
