Re: Who's Going to Stars Fell on Alabama, 3/15-3/18 2012

Only 40 more days!!!!!!
For those not able to be there, (and I know there are some, because there have been some cancellations at the Island House, and we've been moving down the famous waiting list) I have to repeat what was on everyone's registration form: No Refunds and No Transfers! Things happen, "best laid plans" as they say. Sorry you can't make it. We'll miss you. Here's some things you should know: Your registration will go to the charities chosen by the host clubs. If you can't make it but have not cancelled yet, cancellations at both the Island House and the Fairfield must be made by March 7th. I am so sorry you will miss the event, but If there is someone going that you can get to pick up your stuff, let us know. We will not release it to anyone unless arrangements have been made. If they pick it up on Sunday, they can pick up your tag(s). Otherwise, it will be mailed to you after the event. If nobody picks up for you, your t-shirt(s) tag(s) and lanyard(s) will be mailed to the address provided in your registration after the event.
Now, for the 95% or so of you that will be joining us, first let me get this out of the way (since I've been talking about rules and policies):
NO COOLERS OR GLASS IN THE POOL AREA!!!! (are you happy now Flipper?)
You must wear your nametags at all times and wear your wristbands on the days you will need them.
If you are a late arrival on Thursday, come to the table in the tent to get a wristband.
Stars Fell On Alabama will be a closed event - a "private party/event" at the Island House. We need to ensure that we will not be in violation of any local fire codes or restrictions placed on our use of the tent for music and at the Island House. No one will be allowed in without an official "Stars Fell On Alabama " nametag. You MUST be registered!
Our event will still be "open" at the two public venues - LuLu's and the Flora-Bama. Both of these locations will still be open for their regular business activities and serving their own customers in addition to hosting Stars Fell On Alabama.
I hope you're getting ready to escape to sugar white beaches, emerald green Gulf waters, with the sun on your face, sand between your toes, and a gentle breeze from the Gulf. To "Party For A Purpose" with the best group of Parrot Heads from all over the US and have the time of your life!!! Besides all the GREAT entertainment, phun games and activities, and drink specials you've come to know and expect at STARS, We have a few new wrinkles to offer this year: The Snaparazzi Photo Booth on Friday, dress up and capture the memories. The "Dress like your favorite Buffett song contest at LuLu's. And this year the Silent Auction will include an "Instant Buy" option for those that don't want to take the chance of losing the bid.
OK now, how about a check list?
1.start taking vitamin "C" and "B12" 2.make sure your vacation days are approved (or plan to call in sick) 3.book your flight (nearest airport is Pensacola, FL) 4.book your rental car (Special Parrot Head Rates Year Round With AVIS http://phip.com/MOTM_Traveling.asp ) 5.make arrangements for the kids, dogs, cats, whatever 6.pack the camera for "Was I really There? Did I really Do That?" 7.bring your club banner for your balcony 8. pack the hangover medicine 9.watch the weather channel so you will know what to wear.
We'll have a few 1st timers attending Stars...AKA "Stars Virgins", and it is a known fact that after the 1st couple of hours you are here you will no longer be "Stars Virgins". Just watch out for the "Welcoming Committee" they are known for the "Best Jello-Shooters" around....All of you Pros of Stars, take it easy on the "Stars Virgins".
Don't forget to check out the schedule http://www.starsfellonalabama.org/schedule.htm
We have a lot of PHUN stuff going on and the TropRock music will be heard all over the Island!
Can't wait,
