Obviously Amy Winehouse didn't.
You don't think so?
I suspect she knew it was inevitable.

predictable yes... but plenty sad today. :-? :(

Hers was a distinctive voice of such a retro-soul vibe, and she'd already spawned so many imitators,
except the pain was real inspiration in her music, and she just let it consume her "...like Mr. Hathaway"

a damn shame

Normally I'm shocked when I read about a passing, sadly this one didn't.

I became a huge fan after I heard her do this one.

Sail on.

I feel badly for her family (tho with all the escapades at the height of her fame, it's hard to imagine how they could hurt much more with this last piece of bad news); and I hope that she finally finds what she wasn't able to here. A good talent that could have gotten better with different choices; unfortunately when you start trying to live up to your "persona"'s rep, especially as a rock-star, you end up joining the 27 Club.

Sadly rehab did her no good. How many more get hooked into too much drink and drugs. Feel very sorry for her family. Sail on Amy.

I hope she's finally found some peace. It's always so sad to see a life lost to addiction. Sail on.

Such a sad loss. I had been a cheerleader for her recovery throughout her battles. Bless her and her loved ones.

It's sad that I know of her only because of her drug problems and not for her music.
