Bristow Goin' Parrottheads, help!!!!

Ok, I know the whole parking lot and tailgating issue at Jiffy Lube Live this year has been well documented. I know there are at least 2 threads on the subject.

But I need some help here. I don't know what to do. I normally have my tickets by now for this show. Get 'em every year online. I couldn't buy them this year when they went on sale as I was out of town at a wedding. However, I do have a source with tickets and they are waiting for me to decide if I am buying these 4 tickets or not. It is close to crunch time now. Going to be August in a week.

I don't know what to do. With the horror stores of prior shows this summer at Bristow and the potential disaster awaiting us for Jimmy's show this year, I don't know if I want to committ to these $140 tickets only to sit in heavy traffic, get in the parking lot probably when the show starts, no tailgating, and be p*** off all night.

I know some people say they are fine with no tailgating and will go to enjoy Jimmy. Which I agree with to an extent. If I was guaranteed that we would pull into the lot no problem, park and be able to take our time walking in, I would be ok.
It is the unknow that is really holding me back. We have gone to this show every year since he started playing at Nissan/Jiffy/whatever. tough traffic some years, yes. tough leaving the parking lot sometimes, yes..

But this year I am just not that pumped about it b/c of this bulls*it possibility of a complete disaster.

anyone want to help me decide???

Buck up and go...make the best of whatever comes your way. I'm sure Jimmy won't disappoint. Deep breath and relax, man... [smilie=nod.gif]

This will be our 2nd year at Bristow just having met BN last spring.

We are bummed about the no tailgating policy but as many others have said we are there to enjoy "the Jimmy Show".

Right now our plan is to try to at least meet up with some BNers at our hotel before we begin the trip over to the Lube.

My friends and I are going. I mean what the hell, it's practically the only concert I go to these days. I may even bring my in-laws since they've always wanted to go but probably don't want to spend the entire day tailgating.

And if anyone needs any extra lawn tickets, I (sadly) have a few...

I'd go. The last two years have been especially bad getting out of Alpine and last year we were in line almost two hours waiting to get into the parking lot. I was almost dreading going this year, but we drove straight into the parking lot without waiting, had a couple of hours of tailgating with friends, walked into the venue without even getting patted down and had a fantastic show. I remember wondering during the show why I even hesitated - I mean, it's Jimmy. To me it's worth whatever we go through to see him live.
Have a great time!

Go and enjoy yourself!

With the heat here in Michigan bunches of people were worried about tailgating in 100 degrees etc. etc. etc.

We all had a ball.

Go but if you are traveling from the north of the venue, go in on Balls Ford Rd from Mananas.

If Nissan (sorry Jiffy Lube) was my only show, I'd probably s*** it up and still go. I had tickets but sold them. I've already been to Star Lake and have tickets for Jones Beach so decided not to go to this one. Look around for preparties. I know some clubs are going together to have a preparty at Kilroy's in Springfield. Remember to boycott buying anything inside the venue, though.

since you have doubt that you could have a good time without being able to tailgate, you should save your money and stay home. if you have keets, give the money to them or put into an account for future use. what ever you decide, good luck.

As long as you go in with the understanding/expectation that you won't be tailgating, then you really have no reason to get p***. It's a bs rule, but it's not like we all haven't had enough of an opportunity to get used to the idea. Plus, since you'd clearly be buying the tickets with full knowledge of the rule, unlike many others, it kind of revokes your right to be mad, although you can still b**** about it.
