Can anyone suggest a hotel that's not too pricey within a half hr's drive north. we'll be heading to Normandy Beach on Thursday.

Let me check around, last year we stayed at a motel in Stone Harbor. Not impressive but clean and comfortable, and about 10 minutes away. Since we're in season everything is pricey! The Windrift is $275 for a weeknight! I know the place we stayed at was less pricey and not right on the main strip. YAY!!! I'm glad I'll see you and Rocky!!!!

Deb, any info would be greatly appreciated since I don't know that area of NJ that well...guess I've gone too long. Even towns on the mainland near Avalon would be helpful. I figure anything on the beach is going to be insane.

Deb, do you think that the show will really start at 5?? We were wondering if someone is playing before them. If it really does start that early that means it could be over by 8..

also, Jen said the parking is really limited there. what time are you all planning on arriving? We most likely won't get there until just before 4:30/5.

Well, our original plan was to get into Avalon by 2:30 and hit the beach then get to the Windrift by 4. It looks like we'll get a later start and miss the beach but I'm still hoping to get to the venue by 4. Jeanie is a handicap parker so I'm not too worried about parking. I don't think anyone else is opening for them and since I leave the next day for Jones Beach, I'm kinda glad it's an early night. We have a 2 hour drive at the end of the show as it is.

i wish we were going to Jones Beach. this year since it's on a friday i'd be able to go. however, we already committed to an invite to Normandy Beach for the weekend. Looks like it won't even be beach weather.
