Newbies to Jones Beach

We are going to Jones Beach for the first time. Can someone tell us what time the gates open and what the tailgating rules are? got Days Inn at Copiague. 7.28 miles from JB. hope it's OK. Looking forward to it. Any PHCOEM members going besides Tonga Tam? Would love to meet up. Tam-will email you.
