Nice that you got to go to the show!!! I especially enjoy ZBB, because almost everybody in my family enjoys him. It's was also fun to enjoy ZBB with Bners!!!!!
That makes me have a strong connection to the band other than Jimmy's connection. So glad to "know and enjoy" another band.

T, I completely respect how you feel about ZBB and yours and Larry's opinions about not particularly caring for ZBB.
Like you say, I agree with the concept of people getting to music they like because of sharing likes with Jimmy or Kenny or even just a close friend.
For example, I had never listened to Grace Potter, and I heard her duet with Kenny, and after a quick Shazam, now I totally love listening to her, although I had never heard her and the band before. Nice that Radio Margaritaville plays a lot of other folks that we can get to know.
Nice to find connections, any way that we can to support singer/songwriters and enjoy music with family etc.
Yes, the love of music.

i agree it is nice to find connections.....i do like a few ZZB songs.....i just couldn't sit through a whole show......i did have a chance to go and see him last year in Boca....and Jimmy played with him....i decided not to due to i was going to a Dolphins game the next day....and Mac played a pre-game concert outside the stadium....pretty cool...and according to Mac...Jimmy was suppose to show, but got delayed trying to fly down...they had 2 mics set up on the stage...would of been cool!!

Still not sure why people feel the need to bash others for their tastes in music. We intersect at Buffett but our tastes are so very wide-ranging. I like ZBB a lot but certainly understand why others don't. I wonder if those who would pigeonhole ZBB as a Buffett wanna-be have ever seen a whole show; the band will go off and jam for ten minutes at a time. I've discovered many an artist I now like through the musical tastes of my Buffett friends. Grace Potter is an excellent example; I'd never heard of her before. It'd be nice if we could simply state who we like and who we don't like, and why, without someone else bashing... *sigh*

I never said he was a Buffett wanna be , just like i don't think, Chesney is, or Allan Jackson ...there is a another country singer who does a song with reference to Margarita's in it..who i can't think of...i don't think he is either.

No, I know you didn't, Tom. Others have along the way, though, and about Kenny, too. I don't get it is all. Live and let live....

And I loved his comment about Jimmy and meeting him playing guitars on a beach.

Every night, I listen to country to go to sleep since it relaxes me. But during the day, I listen to a little bit of everything. My ipod has 32gb of music on it, and it isn't all JB. There is everything from Pink to Pantera, and yes, ZBB. And yes, it doesn't get much better than 80's hair bands

ZBB is the first country act that's really caught my attention in a long time...
I dig 'em!

I'm not nearly as musically eclectic as some of you, lol. I've also got some Sinatra and Manilow, but my iPod is mostly a mix of singer-songwriters (Jimmy Buffett, Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg, John Denver, Harry Chapin, James Taylor, Mac McAnally, Peter Mayer, Hugo Duarte, Kelly McGuire, Rob Mehl, etc, etc, etc), pop/light rock (Carpenters, Air Supply, Eagles, etc, and even a few Partridge Family), country (a *wide* range from old to new), some Native American Flute (Mark Holland, R. Carlos Nakai and others), and some trop rock. Rock, metal, well, not so much..... A few Stones and Springsteen songs here and there but no hair bands, sorry,
