Kenny Chesney Show - Jimmy Buffett and Zac Brown Masks
For those that attend the Jimmy Buffett shows at great woods, most of you are aware you see the kitchen brothers (think thats their name) wear Jimmy Buffett masks and more recently they created a Zac Brown mask.
Well, I happen to be at the Kenny Chesney show at Gillette on Friday night and at the end of the show, Zac joined Kenny Chesney on stage to sing "Knee deep". The camera caught the masks and were shown on the large screen (the brothers were in the sandbar). Kenny saw the masks and asked for them. Well, Kenny took the masks and put them at the feet of the drum set along with all the other trinkets people gave him during the show.
My guess is Kenny took the masks as a trinket and we will never see them again at the Buffett show.
Not sure if anyone has an update, but I would be P**ssed if that happened to me after all the work I put into creating them.
I guess its back to drawing board.

And the little poser strikes again.
Sorry, I'm NOT trying to start a conversation about this - it's just my personal opinion and I know a lot of people don't share it.

AANNDDD .... it might just be that these two guys made the masks in order to be noticed by Mr. Chesney. They were; mission accomplished and equipment no longer required.
I'd also be willing to bet that if Chesney did ask them for the masks, the brothers didn't just hand them over without some sort of compensation. I know that I wouldn't have. After all, if I've got something that you want, that lets me bargain from a position of strength.

I've never been to Great Woods, but I've seen the Kitchen brothers' masks in photos and videos forever. (I've seen their Jimmies, and an Alan Jackson. Cool they added a Zac!) My guess is that they're not the same masks from 2001 and perhaps before, and that they could make more if needed.Steele1161 wrote:For those that attend the Jimmy Buffett shows at great woods, most of you are aware you see the kitchen brothers (think thats their name) wear Jimmy Buffett masks and more recently they created a Zac Brown mask.

They've brought those signs to numerous GW shows, they were always noticed by Jimmy and he even wore the Alan Jackson one for a bit onstage but then he gave it back.

Re: Kenny Chesney Show - Jimmy Buffett and Zac Brown Masks
The mask that Kenny asked for was the young Jimmy (with the hair on it)- (left one).
Thanks for reminding me it was Keith who designed the masks. He designed the Zack Brown mask a few years ago when Jimmy and zack perfomed on CMT together. They were the original masks that Kenny took. They were definately worn and were not new. Keith has a picture of him and Jimmy on stage together (Keith wearing the mask) on the back of the mask, signed and all.
I guarantee Keith thought that Kenny and Zack would wear them and return them (just like Jimmy does) and I believe they were shocked to have seen the faces just tossed by the drummer (along with all the license plates). Take my word, Kenny did not pay compensation for the masks.

Worn, I don't know, I have no way of knowing that...However, they did appear to be a little more flimsey than I would have expected them to be.?![]()

Re: Kenny Chesney Show - Jimmy Buffett and Zac Brown Masks
First of all, Don't know why I am considered a Poser, but I think it is funny that someone would make a comment like that about me when they don't know me. I am very friendly to everyone I meet and to hear a comment like that is very funny especially from a fellow "parrothead"...
I use the masks to create happiness and make people smile, if it happens that Buffett, Alan Jackson, Chesney and Zac Brown enjoy my artwork and it happens to make them smile, than so be it...
For the record, Chesney asked for the Kenny mask and Zac masks after singing Knee Deep, they got a kick out of them. I never got any compensation, knowing that they like my art is good enough for me. I can make more...I am sure after Kenny looks at the back of the mask he will ask Jimmy about it since the back had many pics of Buffett and I together with the masks.
Oh the stories I could tell...

The "poser" comment was referring to Kenny Chesney.

And when I used the word "compensation" I meant something like an autograph, a photo op afterwards, or a guitar pick as a souvenir. I wasn't talking about anything like cash on the barrelhead.

Keith!!! What up dude!??!
Being someone that not only has known Keith FOREVER... haha.. dang, has been many many years now! but someone that has worn the masks a few times.. I can say that (a) they are not flimsy... they're very cool.. and (b) Keith makes them up for the fun of it! He and his brothers got to dance on stage once (hokey pokey, correct?!) for Jimmy.. who's comment was.. "shameless".. hehe.. The Chesney concert it was Keith and his buddy Evan (also way cool guy!). He's got some of the pics up on FB. Jimmy has worn the masks a few times. Asked for them when he played a mini gig in the lot one year.. Keith will have to tell you that story.
We all do things and a part of us hope that one day, maybe... somehow.. the big guy will hear of it and want to meet us! Well, I do anyways. Someday I hope to say that Jimmy had some tonga juice and loved it! Someday...
so rock on Keith, your brothers and now Evan!

As Larry said, the "poser" line was meant for KC not you. I've seen those masks more than once and always thought it was very clever and I'm jealous I don't have that kind of talentTongaTam wrote:jbftfan1 wrote:First of all, Don't know why I am considered a Poser, but I think it is funny that someone would make a comment like that about me when they don't know me.
