What's up with no California this year? Vegas, Phoenix, Colorado, Vegas and no California. Has anyone heard differently?

Nothing at all. Not San Diego, LA, SF or any of his usual stops. I guess unless you have a Margaritaville CAfe you have no chance this year. Maybe if we promise to buy the coffeeparrotheadla wrote:What's up with no California this year? Vegas, Phoenix, Colorado, Vegas and no California. Has anyone heard differently?

I scared him away from Denver for 7 years.stevefsu1 wrote:I heard through a legal friend that Jimmy's team is upset with California promoters and won't be coming back to CA anytime soon. Did anyone notice that in JB's recent contest, everyone in the US was eligible to participate EXCEPT us Californians. Hmmm! Guess we better prepare for attending Jimmy out of State if we want to get our annual "fix".
We're NOT happy Jimmy. Forget about buying your stuff if this is the way you treat your loyal fans out West.
If that is the case. Fire the promoters and don't punish the fans. Cali people are fickle and they'll move on very quickly.stevefsu1 wrote:I heard through a legal friend that Jimmy's team is upset with California promoters and won't be coming back to CA anytime soon. Got to agree with that (and I'm not even Californian!). You would think I would be more upset at the possibility of this, but not so much. Jimmy's not the only trop rocker out there. I haven't listened to Jimmy for the past few months now. Initially out of disappointment, but now it's not out of spite but to expand and diversify. RM has been replaced with BFR. I thought I knew most of the trop rock artists out there but there are so many more than I was ever aware of. I've been loving hearing all this new (to me) stuff that I'm now excited about music in ways I haven't been in a while.TheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:If that is the case. Was the contest sponsered by Landshark Lager or some other alcoholic beverage related company? If so it was probably a California Law, BPC Section 25600, and not Jimmy that made California residents ineligible to enter the contest. In an effort to protect us from ourselves California came up with the law that states “No licensee shall, directly or indirectly, give any premium, gift, or free goods in connection with the sale or distribution of any alcoholic beverage...”stevefsu1 wrote: Did anyone notice that in JB's recent contest, everyone in the US was eligible to participate EXCEPT us Californians. .
No I didn't. He actually WAS here in 1978. (As an opening act for Emmylou Harris). The local newspaper ripped him a new one for being hung over.FunkHouse9 wrote:You forgot 1978, 1977, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1973, 1972 and 1971Wino you know wrote:Don't feel too badly.

I disagree. It does have alcohol in it; hence it's an alcoholic beverage by definition.LIPH wrote:Landshark Lager isn't an alcoholic beverage, it's fizzy water.
