I'm with ya, Paige. Opening records is (for me) very exciting, as I said, for the liner notes and artwork.
Whenever I try opening a C.D., it's the equivalent of a monkey screwing a football.

Love the sound of an LP in perfect condition, but I'm not one to enjoy the noises that aren't supposed to be there. So I like the convenience and durability of a cd, but I also miss the liner notes, photos, etc. I listen to my fair share of mp3s too, even though those are likely compressed quite a bit and lose some of the original quality. But you can't beat the portability.

On a related note, I can't believe how good many OEM car stereos sound now. The past few years have really seen an improvement, while in the past you had to install something else to get great sound.

unfortunately records don't play so well in the ride.

When I was in high school in the 80s it seemed like everyone brought their boomboxes to school. I remember one kid a macked out one similar to this.
