According to Wikipedia, Al Davis's first coaching job was as offensive line coach at Adelphi in 1950-51. That was before I was born, but I went to college at Adelphi. By time I got there, they didn't have a football team anymore. I transferred to Adelphi for my junior year in 1972, the last year of the football program was 1971.

His funeral was scheduled to be in Oakland, then it was moved to LA, then moved back to Oakland….

I never want to see anyone sail on, I don't want to say anything bad about someone that has, but as a Chiefs fan, it's definitely hard. I've only been to one Chiefs/Raiders game and it was the most intense sporting event I've ever been to. The Chiefs were a decent team, the Raiders were a terrible team and you would have thought it was a Super Bowl the way the Raiders played that day. A last minute interception in the end zone sealed the win for the Chiefs and for that rivalry I'm grateful for Al Davis.
Sail on.
