A September of '08 BN Critters storyline
featured Miles (and Steve) ... with Miles suffering from a case of "Deejay Burnout Syndrome"
and finding himself temporarily reassigned to RADIO DISMAL ......
I was surprised to get a PM from him explaining his situation.
He will definately be missed on RM, but I'm happy he is happy and gets his Saturdays back

I'm sure it will all work out. When one door closes, another one usually opens. -"BB"-

So happy to find out what happened. Really enjoyed Miles and will miss him. Glad to know he is alright. What nice comments he had to say about his time with RM and Jimmy's group and all of us.
When I first started listening to RM and really started paying attention to Jimmy Buffett's music almost 5 years ago, I really enjoyed listening to Miles show evry evening. I really enjoyed the factoids that he would throw in his shows which helped me to learn about this thing called being a ParrotHead, and because of Miles factoids, I learned a lot about Jimmy Buffett. I am going to miss Miles on RM, but if the heart is directing a person down another road then he has to go that direction. He said a very appropriate good bye, and I am glad he is doing well.
Thanks to everyone who investigated and solved the mystery.
Here we are, maybe it's because in spite of all the work we do
It's the child in us we really value
Here we are, with our fins up and our feathers flashing
Here we are, with our coconut shell brassieres chanting

And thank you, Molly. That sheds a light on a lot of things.

And yes, I had his permission to copy and paste.
Well hello Molly Mystery solved I guess!
Because Radio Margaritaville and Hits 1 are in such alternate universes, it took someone a long time to connect these dots...and that allowed me the chance to be my alter ego (perhaps closer to my real self) on RM. I left the island of Margaritaville on Labor Day weekend 2011, steering to my own course. There was no firing, as some might speculate, although there were times I probably deserved it. Jimmy and his organization are far too kind for such things. I think I left on the best of terms, and I think Steve Huntington can vouch for that. One thing i've always done, and that is listen to what your heart is telling you. My heart was saying it was time to move on, and get my Saturday nights back. By the way, Sara West is doing a terrific job in that timeslot now. Isn't she great? Maybe someday i'll find myself in a landing pattern headed back to that most wonderous place...but for now, i'm healthy, happy and rested, and still in a good state of mind. I do miss my friends at RM and Jimmy's fans, and their passion - which superscedes anything i'd ever witnessed before in this business. I'm still a Parrothead. Look for me at a concert having fun with the rest of you escapists. I had hoped to go quietly and slowly disappear, but it seems an explaination is demanded. Well as for my last words (with feathers flashing): "...A toast my dear friends... to Margaritaville!"
