Here is what I have been told from the venue...........
They are releashing 60 parking spots at one of their lots that is one block from the venue. You will need to contact Ticketbastard to purchase a parking pass.

Re: Who's going to Birmingham 2/25/12 ??
Hold off on this for a couple of days if you want to. I have a friend who knows just about everyone in B'ham in that area. He is helping me find a suitable (read as next to the civic center complex) parking lot. Right now I'm trying to get in touch with the Salvation Army and/or the VFW about renting their lots (small but vaguely suitable).
If we are going to pool resources and rent a lot I for one would rather my (our) funds go to either of those organizations rather than in the pockets of ticket bastards and the people in charge of parking @ the civic center.
UNLESS this parking lot they are planning on doing that to is right next to entrance (Corner of 19th St N and 9th ave N Google map it) . Its where Ringling Bros and other big shows do their outside storage. If its that lot then yes it is worth dealing with them.

It's Wednesday the first day of Buffett month. I have had no one get back in touch with me about the parking lots so go ahead and see about the Ticketbastard parking.

Any word on pre concert festivities? Been checking the Magic City PH club page, but no info. Nothing on ticketmaster yet either.

The Byrd Brothers Road Show will be at the Sheraton adjoining the venue starting Friday afternoon. There's got to be a hotel bar and can overrun...
Looking forward to seeing everyone!

I made enough money to buy North Jackson but I p*** it away so fast... never meant to last.

Re: Who's going to Birmingham 2/25/12 ??
Just read this on the Magic City PHC....
The Magic City Parrot Head Club will partner with the Downtown Sheraton Hotel to provide a pre-concert party prior to the Jimmy Buffett concert on February 25th. This party starts at 3 PM on the second floor atrium and the admission is free. Music will be provided by our own Jeff Tyler who does a great job playing our favorite Buffett tunes. Not only will there be cash bars which will open around noon but later in the afternoon there will be a buffet at the restaurant or you can order from the menu at Casey's Sports Bar. Our club will be conducting a "tea cup" raffle and a small silent auction to benefit the recent tornado victims so bring lots of cash!!! We have many wonderful items for our fundraiser so we hope everyone will participate. As part of this event we invite you to help the Magic City Parrot Head Club celebrate our 11th birthday. There will also be food and beverages available at the atrium following the concert so any parrot heads who still want to party will have a place to gather. Members of the Magic City Parrot Head Club look forward to having you in our city on February 25th and hope that this is a wonderful and exciting event for you. Kay Moore, president

Re: Who's going to Birmingham 2/25/12 ??
Just found out that we will be in attendance next Saturday as well. Those lots in back of BJCC are pretty good size and hopefully they will open them early enough that tailgating will be decent. As of now, the weather looks great (65 and 0% chance of rain).
Also, I may bring a hand written letter to slide under the doors of the SEC office across the street as I have a few choice words about their unnecessary conference expansion and how it is going to screw up the entire league.
See you all Saturday.

Re: Who's going to Birmingham 2/25/12 ??
I called them and voiced my displeasure. (Appologies to any one from Missouri reading this, this is not directed at you on a personal level, but rather towards the choice in general). Missouri???? How in the world can they think that is a good move for the SEC?? Watering down the conference is NOT going to help anyone. I know they have a good basketball program but this was first and foremost a football expansion. Minor league sports should not have figured into the equation. I understand that Missouri really wanted a berth in the big 10,11,12 or what ever it is called today and that would have been a much better fit for them. They very well could have competed in that league instead of becoming a doormat. This move stunk from one end to the other for all parties involved.BahamaBreeze wrote:Can I sign it????Ragtop Dawg wrote:Just found out that we will be in attendance next Saturday as well. Re: Who's going to Birmingham 2/25/12 ??
You are correct. Missouri will be Kentucky part deux.
I am just livid that they are considering doing away with UGA-Auburn and UTK-Alabama. Let's throw away tradition and historical rivalries to invite a couple of teams that 95% of SEC fans are indifferent towards one way or another.

Sadly though, we have to give our donations IF we want our season tickets....I certainly hope the 2013 schedule is better than this one that came out...Ragtop Dawg wrote:You are correct. Missouri will be Kentucky part deux.

Re: Who's going to Birmingham 2/25/12 ??
The only good thing thing (and I always try to find a good thing in every situation) is that 2 weeks before they are scheduled to come to your stadium they will return 1,000s of unused tickets to sold so it will be easier for the locals to pick them up. My wife and I have set a goal of going to and seeing a game @ every home venue in the SEC. Then they added Missouri. I'm scratching that one off the bucket list. No offense to those who live there but that is a long boring drive. I like the way they put them in the east I firmly believe that was to hopefully prevent them from being repeatedly embarrassed and making the decision makers who shafted us with this decision from having to answer for it.
Oh and great win over Auburn last year. Keep it up.

Re: Who's going to Birmingham 2/25/12 ??
I have been to every SEC stadium except the Swamp and have no plans on going since UGA never plays there and Gates are big enough pricks in Jax. I am going to Missouri this year to see Georgia play, but am not expecting much. I went to Arizona State and Colorado the last few years and those were fantastic trips with lots to do and see. Sadly, I have a feeling this will be more like Stillwater than Boulder.
