Welcome To Fin Land Shirts

Post by Volcano5270 »

Im think about making some Welcome To Fin Land Shirts. Here is what I got in my mind. the front of the shirt has the Welcome To Fin Land Flag on it with said Welcome To Fin Land with the picture of the flag. On the back of the shirt it has the song from the tour. The songs have a picture of what the songs mean.

I got so few is The Great Filling Station Holdup, In the City, Bama Breeze, One Particular Harbour, Southern Cross.

I do need help to find someone to make the shirts.

Whatever you do, do NOT try to sell them at a concert. Trust me. [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]

Just makes me wonder, Auntie — those "Finland" flags that NYCPORT did; do you know if he got an official 'OK' from the powers that be to make them up? I bought one and even if there is a problem with the rights I'm sureashell not going to give it back — but if I were to take it to a show and have it flying during the tailgate beforehand, could someone from Jimmy & Co. come by, claim copyright infringement, and confiscate it?

I believe I remember that Matt had his own flag autographed by the CRB. I'd say that was a permission slip.

I've got autographs on my NASCARitaville shirts and posters
as well as on my Scary Clown Jimmy posters.

My NASCARitaville design contains so many TM items owned by others
from Margaritaville to NASCAR to Talladega Nights to ......

But I made that shirt design for me. I don't sell it in my surf shop.
I've been very careful that all of my *Buffetty* designs in my surf shop
are NOT infringing on Jimmy's TM properties.

*owning* an item (flag, t-shirt whatever) that infringes on TM rights is one thing.
*selling* those items is another, whether in the parking lot or elsewhere.

*displaying* or *wearing* those items
if done without attempting to profit or advertise
or pretend to associate the TM owned by someone else
with YOUR products or services
sounds perfectly legit to me.

From what I've been able to figure out the flag design isn't copyrighted. But "Welcome to Finland" sure is and so are song titles. I wouldn't try selling what you have mentioned, but that's up to you.
And, yes, Jimmy does know about the flags because he signed one. :D

Ok, in my own VERY HUMBLE opinion, I would pay BIG BUCKS for a Welcome to Fin Land shirt that actually had, alone, emblazoned the letters "W*T*F" I looked everywhere for one and would have killed to get my hands on one. If that's included in your shirt...sign me up as #1 on the list, TM infringement or not. :wench:

Cafe Press. I love it. I made enough this Christmas alone to pay for yearly property taxes on four of my properties. It took me a year of building designs. But man has it paid off.
