Ralph's Tribute

Post by NYCPORT »

Last night Mere and I were lucky enough to attend Ralph’s tribute concert in Stamford, CT.
It was a wonderful night filled with tears, lots of laughs, and most import, amazing music.
Our own Key Lime Lee stole the show when he spoke to the audience and gave his top 10 things learned from Ralph. I haven’t laughed that loud in a long time.
It was really nice to get a chance to hang with Jimmy and the Reefers and share our Ralph stories.
He is missed but his music and energy live on.
Here are a few pictures; I have more up on Facebook.

Thank you for sharing, and happy that you were able to attend.

Did other musicians play, or just Jimmy and the CRB?

Thanks for posting, glad you got to see it.

Has this been posted before? It was news to me, at least.
MacDonald's health declined during the last year, but he completed his 10th solo album, "Generations/We Are Family," to be released later this year.

The album will feature artists such as Roberta Flack and Marcus Miller and MacDonald's 22-year-old son, Atiba, who contributed three songs. The album took on a different approach than his father's other recordings, Atiba said.

Everyone in the CRB was there except Erik, John, and Tina.
Ralph's sons played with a number of the artists.
The Desperados, a steel drum band that Robert has been associated with were amazing.
Roberta Flack, Valerie Simpson (Ashford & Simpson), Dennis Collins, Bobbi Humphrey were all off the charts with thier performances.
There were lots more people performing in various groups that I couldn't name off the top of my head. At one point there were over 15 people jamming on stage.
