Thats the runmor that was going around , he was hurt , not playing and not willing to help the younger players...i've heard him and Ellsbury didn't get along...........I think the next person that has to go is Beckett.....i think he is effecting how Leister and Buchholtz is pitching.

Yeah , I am off the Beckett bandwagon as well. Time to rebuild some more.

Don't look now, but the Red Sox are heating up........
Too bad for all the other AL East teams though that the Yankees have built a huge lead......

It's interesting watching Wild Thing call a ball game. Seems like they are two very different people.

What's going on with the Phillies?
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Hunter Pence hopes this sequel has a better ending.
The Philadelphia Phillies traded the two-time All-Star right fielder to the San Francisco Giants for three players on Tuesday. It's the second time in two years Pence went from last place to first place right before the non-waiver trade deadline.
Earlier, the cost-cutting Phillies sent two-time All-Star center fielder Shane Victorino to Los Angeles for two pitchers.

Phillies were caught in the "Luxury tax" pinch.....after signing Hamels, they had to dump some contracts and players.
Victorino will be a free agent and Phillies couldn't afford to sign him, Pence was going to get around 14-15 mil next year and again, they couldn't afford that. They need to go get a 3rd baseman in the off season and will go with 2 bottom priced OF's in Mayberry and Domonic Brown.
By trading, they at least got something in return (middle relief , solid bench player/OF and prospects)
Victorino really wanted to stay in Philly, but his price tag was too much and I seriously doubt he would have taken a pay cut to stay. While Pence is a decent power hitter, his fielding really is bad.
And you never know with the Phillies, Josh Hamilton will be available, but I don't think that will happen, he's gonna get 20-25 million/year from somebody.

The word out west is the new Dodger ownership group is willing to spend Yankee like dollars to build the team up. Rumor is Josh Hamilton is on their radar for SO CAL. SF is ecstatic about about getting Pence.

Mike Baxter just set a Mets team record, as long as tonight's game doesn't go into extra innings. He's been up 5 times and he's walked 5 times. No Mets player has ever walked 5 times in a 9 inning game.

Melky Cabrera suspended for 50 games. No wonder he was having a career year.

Melky admitted he was wrong and apologized before Ryan Braun's lawyers could contact him.

Second one at the Safe this year. The first one Seattle was the victim.

Two perfect games? And don't forget Seattle's was it 4 or 6 pitcher no hitter. That was pretty cool! Seattle is obviously the Vortex of baseball energy this season.

My favorite Melky comment on the local Giants station today-
I'm outraged!! Melky was juicing and only hit 11 home runs!
