Arghhhh Valverde! He's killing me!
Sorry about Jeter's ankle. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

If we can keep the train rolling I'm calling for thanking the Good Luck Karma of Jimmy's Lounging at Comerica this past summer!!!

Yankees are down 0-2.
Jeter is gone for the remainder of the playoffs.
Yankees offense is at it's worst since the 1963 World Series vs. the Dodgers.
Joe Girardi's father passed away (funeral is tomorrow).
Yeah, things are looking rosy for the Yankees and their fans right now.

Wooo Hoooo Tigers headed back to Comerica ahead 2/0
Glad the bad call didn't decide the game.
Avisail Garcia who is playing with the Tigers now appeared several times at Dow Diamond when he was playing with the Tigers LowA team against our Loons. It is so fun to see the guys who played here playing in the big leagues.

I didn't even bother watching. I don't know what the heck else can happen this week, and maybe I shouldn't ask.
Whatever. It's just been a period of one of those rough patches that everyone goes through from time to time.
F.W.I.W., congratulations to the Tigers, and hope they win the World Series. Don't know why the Yankee offense CONSTANTLY goes south during the post season, but it does.
The last time they were this pathetic was in the 1963 World Series against the Dodgers. They were swept in four games and in those four games scored a total of four runs.
But the better team usually wins, so again, good luck to the Tigers in the World Series.

Yankeees now down 3-0 to Detroit......how did the Orioles lose to these guys?????? Oh, that's right, Baltimore had 2 blown saves and a .144 BA for the series.

Will NOT be watching the Yankee game tonight.
The day has already been stressful enough.

That's the best thing to happen to them this entire post season.
And I won't be watching tonight either. Enough is enough.
The Tigers would have a harder time beating the local middle school girl's softball team.

Even with all the big names, my favorite was Avisail Garcia. He played here at Dow Diamond when the Loons played the Tiger's Low A team. It was so exciting to see him in the big league.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, Nancy, I'll be cheering for the Tigers in the World Series. (I would have a hard time rooting against Miguel Cabrera after the kind of year he's had--he's just what the game needs. Great guy and exciting to watch (unless he's batting against my Yankees). And now it can be said the last FOUR triple crown winners played in the World Series the year they won the HR, RBI, and batting titles.
Miguel Cabrera (2012)
Carl Yastrzemski (1967)
Frank Robinson (1966)
Mickey Mantle (1956)
AND, the previous three are all in the Hall if Fame. Hopefully Mr. C will be too someday.

Last time the Yankees were swept in a four game post-season series was the 1976 World Series vs. the Cincinnati Reds. (They were also swept in the 1980 A.L.C.S. vs. the Kansas City Royals, a three game format at the time).
Should the St. Louis Cardinals go on to win this year's World Series, they would be the first N.L. team to repeat as World Champions since the 1975 & '76 Cincinnati Reds. Other than the Reds and Cardinals, the New York Giants are the only other N.L. team to win back to back titles. (Of course, if you count the 1907 and 1908 Chicago Cubs.............).
