I haven't watched Idol for a few years, but am enjoying it again this year :D

I can't speak for the first season or two but the level of talent has gone way up. I think there is nothing cheesy about Idol...the final group has a lot of talent and I think its very entertaining. BTW...I never have voted...lol

Well that joke's been around
since a little Henny Youngman
taught it it to little George Burns .....

.... but if Steven Tyler used it on the show
I'll give him props for his timing .....

Hate to break it to you guys but every reality show and gameshow is setup . Some more than others. The producers probably paid this guy to come down and "try out".

I cant believe that there are people out there that still think Kim k really married for love and not a stunt and that The Hills wasnt fake even though they admitted it in the series final episode.
Huh !! Next thing you'll be telling us is that professional wrestling is staged. sheesh.

"every reality show is set up"? I guess they chain up the alligators so the swamp people have something to shoot? There are many kinds of "reality shows"...not all are set up for trashy tv viewing.

Yup---knew it wasn't original, but Steven Tyler is very funny now that he is clean and sober.
I hope he can continue to be 'funny'
:D

Swamp People is one of my favorite shows. I have a lot of respect for them. They work hard and take care of their families. To me that isn't anything like the "made for trashy tv" reality shows. I'd love to go out with Troy or Junior for a few days.

The James Boofay guy made me laugh. And I love hearing Jimmy's name mentioned any where, any time, almost any way!! And Steven Tyler, he's pretty darn funny! Isn't that why we watch TV, to enjoy it?!?!

Margaritaville was one of the first songs I ever did in Karaoke, back at the time where I was still a "casual" fan....

(Yep, it sucked)

Most of the time I try to look at it "reality" shows as just entertainment but I can't always.
I cannot watch reality shows on Tru TV because it's staged and just so unrealistic. I'm talking the Pawn Shop/Repo/Boat Cops and the like. Even Bait Car.

However, the Margaritaville guy on Idol was funny, even if it was staged.
