I'd love to give it a thumbs up myself but I can't really get excited about anything that involves Bret Michaels. The fact that he's been working with Loretta Lynn is also more than a little off putting. That's a pretty severe drop in quality from when she was working with Jack White a few years ago for her Van Lear Rose album. Then again, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" may actually work better as a country song than as a rock n' roll power ballad. Years ago, Rex Hobart & the Misery Boys gave it the country treatment for the Making Singles, Drinking Doubles compilation that came out on Bloodshot Records. I understand that Bret himself has also cut a country version of it but my ears have been fortunate enough to have never come in contact with that particular rendition of it.

Does anyone know when the album is supposed to be released? I didn't notice anything in the article about a release date.
