Buffett on Bret Michaels Duets Album

The album, entitled Get Your Rock On, reportedly features Bret singing with Buffett on a live version of "Margaritaville". Read more about it here.

I'd love to give it a thumbs up myself but I can't really get excited about anything that involves Bret Michaels. The fact that he's been working with Loretta Lynn is also more than a little off putting. That's a pretty severe drop in quality from when she was working with Jack White a few years ago for her Van Lear Rose album. Then again, "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" may actually work better as a country song than as a rock n' roll power ballad. Years ago, Rex Hobart & the Misery Boys gave it the country treatment for the Making Singles, Drinking Doubles compilation that came out on Bloodshot Records. I understand that Bret himself has also cut a country version of it but my ears have been fortunate enough to have never come in contact with that particular rendition of it.smiller wrote:
