Was no show here in Mittigan in 2007....but every year since! 8) 8)
Phriends are trying to talk me into Chicago. They've already got tix. Definitely wrestling with it due to the baseball stadium concert venue.

Really surprised how many fans are bailing before the show is even announced. No one knows all the details yet. As I think about it more and more Im glad for the change.

I never really spend more than ten minutes "walking around " the tailgate lot and barely talk to other fans while doing so, guess most dont welcome people as much as they say they do. I spend the majority of the time tailgating with my friends and whoever parks nexts to us.

I have a great parking spot less than a block from the stadium I've been tailgating at since it opened. It is fenced, monitored and they let us get away with murder. There is even a real bathroom to use(not a big upgrade from a port-a-john) but it beats waiting in line for 45 minutes to pee at one of the three portapots or getting a ticket for peeing in the woods.

As others have said I hope the promoters turn Brush into a Mardi-gras Carnival type street show or a Key West Mallory square party. Just hope they are smart enough. It will be nice to tailgate for 4 hours and then switch it up by heading to the street or one of the bars.

NOW I remember why I stopped checking BN all the time

an open forum means you post your thoughts and opinions on a topic ......... this seems to be a place where things you say get slammed, people pass judgements and are very quick to correct

Jimmy at Comerica---could we see two shows--especially if this show is to be recorded--also if things are planned well--this could be a great gathering of Parrotheads!! Let's embrace this one, I love Pine Knob--but if this is his Swan song then let's enjoy---

Not sure about alot of fans bailing. At this point I think (like Myself) I'm just weighing the pros & cons & stating my disatisfaction with his choice in venue when DTE (Pine Knob) is the cats meow as a summer concert venue & tailgating venue.
As myself & 3/4 time have said, odds are favored we'll be there but the "downtown" experience has given us something to think about. Hell MSU, may have to "invade" your topnotch tailgating lot!

Totally the opposite. I'm a freakin' nomad in the parking lot. I can see my friends anytime, and while I enjoy their company while tailgating, I like to strike up new Phriends if possible. I've had many a warm reception (& shotski) from the gang from Youngstown Parrothead club (AJ, Lori, Jim & Paul), Chris & Melissa (PetalMel) have always got a Margarita...or a beer...or A FREAKIN' SWIMMING POOL in the back of their pickup waiting for me. That's the beauty of being able to get to the lot early....you've got time to wander plus march around the lot. Hell, MSU, I've even been on the lookout for you but I guess unless you post a sign MSU#1 IS HERE.... [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif] I've wandered up to a few tailgates that are flying MSU flags asking if anyone there goes by the handle MSU#1...& the looks I've gotten

This will be the key in my opinion. If your able to wander the "mean streets" of Foxtown with your Red Solo cup in hand without getting hassled....and your parking lot management lets you setup your sand pit with limbo bars...& tiki bars..and Elwoods, Cheli's & Hockeytown setup some special events...(although a premium price is gonna have to be paid when dealing with the bars :-? ) then yeah, it could have the makings of something special. But that's alot of ifs at this point. Here's hoping it all comes together!! :pirate:

Oh....& if you catch wind that THE BOOTY LOUNGE, will be making an appearance..... [smilie=superkewl.gif] [smilie=superkewl.gif]

I predict Adams or Brush gets shut down for an all out street party--Tailgating will still be had, but will just be spread out a bit--the Elwood will once again open up the lower level parking for entertainment and drinks and Grand Circus Park becomes Parrothead Central

do you think this choice was about the money?
Chance to put 30,000+ in the stadium...or 15,000+ in a amphitheatre.........you make the call!
Food for thought.........so does Jimmy come out & say "Welcome To Tiger Stadium"???
I don't think I've ever heard him call the venue in Clarkston anything but Pine Knob.

Unless it's been renewed, Wiki says the naming rights end this year. Maybe soon it will be Platinum Equity Amphitheater. Party at the PEA :D

my friend at opening day couldnt figure out why Strippers kept walking thru the lots avout every hour. He said "why are those strippers always going back to the bus?" hahahaha...................and he's a cop

I understand why people love Pine Knob, its been my summer home for many years. I just hope this show turns out great and the places down there embrace it like they do Opening Day. Would I want it there every year. No Way, but Im excited for the change this year.

Its funny you asked people about my name, cause I saw a dude once decked out head to toe in Corona gear. I asked him if he was Dr. C and he gave me the same :pirate: look.

I'll tell anyone about the lot I tailgate at, just thru pm's , to small to post it for all the people who will be scanning this thread when it goes public.

Was thinking that it would be cool if the Tigers put Hawaiian shirts on the Tigers out front of the stadium like they do for the other teams in town.

This makes me sad. I love DTE, the traffic isn't too ridiculous and I love the tailgating. The party is in the lawn for Buffett and with the slanted hill everyone can see. I'm afraid at Comerica I won't be able to see if they have GA tickets for down on the field plus, I'm sure the tickets will be pretty pricey.
I hope next year they bring it back to DTE.

How many games have you been at for Comerica??? There isnt a bad seat in the place and that includes up in the mezzanine concession area. If you get a 6 foot 5 guy in front of you in the second row or the last row you wont be able to see. The seating wont matter, plus the field will be like the pavilion not the lawn. The field will not be GA and will cost more than the seats. Most concerts at comerica have no GA except for the pepsi porch.

I think I need a break from BN, the whining about this show is getting out of hand and most of it is from people who have never been there. Pretty disappointed in the "michigan" parrotheads

I havent blocked anyone's opinion just stated mine.....that alot of people need to chill out.

back to the show, I still think that Zac Brown Band could open. They are sponsered by Landshark and if you go to the Landshark website you get Jimmy and Zac tour dates side by side. ZBB has a new cd coming out on July 10th they will need to promote. They have signed up for a today show performance on July 13th. ZBB has a big hole in their touring schedule that would fit right in.

If you have any suggestions to send Olympia entertainment I suggest you do. (i.e Blocking off Brush for drinking and mallory square type things, parking, and whatnot) This is their first go round with the Parrothead Nation so Im sure suggestions would be welcomed.

Here's the webpage link.

http://www.olympiaentertainment.com/def ... olympia=42

also I was wrong about the GA tickets. Last years Sir paul show was all reserved with seats on the field.

however there was a GA section behind the VIP section for the Kid Rock show . The Eminem/Jay Z show was all GA WITH NO CHAIRS.

So I guess its up to Jimmy to pick the setup.
