I'm just in the perfect place with venues 3,5 & 8 hrs away by car/RV. Good friends at all locations. I have yet to hit other places. Frisco, St. Louis and Nashville are easy for me. Frisco is favorite for obvious reasons. St. Louis is second because it has a Starplex music venue and a tiny tailgate, but they haven't been schooled, they could maybe step up and then there's Nashville. Indoor venue, no tailgate, very different, but closest. I think that covers me on his unpredictable predictability.springparrot wrote:Sorry about those that will not be able to attend due to the Thursday show.
I was afraid the Saturday shows might come to an end.![]()
Not every venue can have a Sat show....there are no guarentees and none that he will come back to YOUR area.
I like the more predictable JB schedules![]()
But I'm going to Hoot Island this year, can't stop me. Yesterday I was in shock, today I'm back on track. Count me IN.

This venue used to be Starplex/Smirnoff/pick a name.
It is a good venue but small

Re: Who's Doing Dallas - Thur 4/19/12?
Remember it stormed last year. Friday afternoon was rough, tore off someone's awning. It is great to have an RV. When I saw that collage I thought you had lifted a photo of mine from last year! I haven't figured out how to put pictures in yet or I would. I really want to bring my RV, but do you know the fuel costs from Memphis? Cheaper than renting, but yipes. Here's hoping Bill pulls off a miracle and we get the same 2 day party we've grown accustomed to, then I'll bring the RV and you can all stay dry (well, at least about 10 of you.) Otherwise I'll be there at the tailgate in the Element and dancing in the rain. I'll pack lots of towels and extra clothes. We've said that word way too much!springparrot wrote:Yes, the one in the collage....Terry rented it.jedivet wrote:You had an RV?!?springparrot wrote:Please don't mention the R word.jedivet wrote:PS: My first thought was that it was time to go "back to the island." Hoot Island was my first BN show, though I wasn't officially playing the BN game yet.
I love the Frisco venue, but like ETP and others, I have fond memories of Dallas.
And for me, Thursday works. I don't have to ask for time off! I was stressing that about a Sat show. (I work weekends.)
Let it rain!
As much fun as we had in the RV in the rain, let's not repeat that one
All I had was soaking wet everything!
Still, though, it was only rain. Not like the hail from Great Woods in...um...2009? No...2010? Oh, heck, I don't remember!
All I know is I'm Dallas-bound!
(That is, provided I can get tickets, as I have to work all day on Saturday and will have to set up someone else to get them for me. But that should be doable. Yay! So excited!)
Who's doing the silent auction?

Guess we need to be prepared for anything.
2 years ago at Frisco, I thought I would freeze until the sun finally came out.
Don't know if there will be a silent auction. Not sure we will have enough room to display anything. Guess we will have to wait and see what kind of area Bill wrangles this year.

I hope that the parking manager is still there!!
Mr. Play wrote on May 04, 2006....The parking manager came by while I was cleaning up early Saturday morning, and I took some time to talk to him. I asked him if we needed to do anything differently next time. He said they were cool with our setup and he even gave me a bunch of cards. I don't think he would have done that if there were any problems.

Hoot Island was my very first thread to start on BN. Our own little "party at the end of the parking lot".
I'm happy the show is in April. Weather should be AMAZING and it will be a great way to end my birthday week celebration!
