I agree, Nancy! It was the most phabulous time ever, the only thing that could have made it better was if more BN phriends could have been there. LOVED seeing our tire swing and MJM on the big screen! Can't figure out where my smilies are on this ipad, but :-) :-) :-)
I missed MJM on the big screen! So bummed!

I was dealing with truck drama (some of you know that my husband locked himself out of his truck just before the concert and had to wait on a locksmith to come and let him in so he missed part of the show - during CILCIA, I was busy directing him to our lawn location so he could join us and missed the parking lot cam!

Thought I'd mention that I brought my dad's old Volcano 8-track tape on the OFF chance that Jimmy might autograph it from my 4th row seat in Dallas tonight... and HE DID!!!!

The show was over, Jimmy was saying goodnight, and I held up my tape with Sharpie attached. He looked at me and shouted, "8 track?! Whoa!", shocked that anyone might still own one.

So cool!!! This is definitely going on my rock shrine in my home.

Fins up, y'all. And to y'all good night.
I think I got a photo of that, I'll have to check. Last photo that I took at the show. Jimmy had signed something palm sized and tossed it back to the crowd. If it's clear enough I'll try to post it in a day or so after I unpack.

Cheers,

John Mc

Yep, I checked my photos and you are soooo going to LOVE the pic of Jimmy holding your 8 track. It couldn't have come out any better. I also got a nice screen capture of the crowd photo showing Junior Mint in the tire swing and a full video of the the Levon Helm tribute. Now how do I post stuff like this. Photo bucket or BuffettNews or something?? Not familiar with loading files to any of these? Any directions/suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,

John Mc
I used Photobucket and then just post a link here. About to do that, in fact, once the upload finishes. Others use Flickr, Snapfish, etc.

Any image hosting service will do. That's the easiest way.

Waiting at the airport for my departure back to Colorado.

Fantastic day and night on the island. Great seeing my phamily again!!

Concert sounded great, was PHINtastic having a lawn section again.

Thanks for the ticket Linda. Thanks to Terry for the transportation and for the place to crash and Alison.

Great food each day I was here. Some great local places and a visit to my favorite family-owned chain :D

All Night Long turned out better than I could have hoped. Think it's one to add to many shows to come.

Special thanks to the Landshark guys for the GREAT schwag!!!

Hoot Island II= Phintastic!!

It was so great to see everyone again!! I agree with what everyone else said about the weather and the food. Concert was so much fun!! Jimmy seemed really happy!! I think it is great that you one of our own got a tape autographed and Jr. Mint made the big screen! How wonderful that John actually got pictures of both!! What an amazing group of people. Those that weren't there you were missed (and yes, we talked about you!!) Can't wait for Hoot Island III
Thanks again to everyone that help make this one possible!! [smilie=hearts.gif]

Ditto....HI 2 was great... Without a doubt the best place to be in the parking lot yesterday ... Lot of nice shade thanks to the lovely location and the EZ ups that were brought.... And no way that anyone could go hungry .... Or thirsty ... What a phabulous group... I think I sat for a total of 10 minutes. :). And that is ok by me because I was having a blast..... And winning upgrade seats after we entered the venue... That rocked as well. Also I loved 'All Night Long'. Way better than I expected.... Peters part in the song was awesome! Can't wait until the next phlocking!!!! Almost home after a nice day of golf at Tenison Highlands Course and dinner and fun at Top Golf in Dallas.

For those of you who'd like to send a special shout out to Officer Frankie, please PM me and I'll give you his email address.

Here's his mailing address if you want to use snail mail.

Here's a portion of the email I sent today.

Dear Officer Frankie:

A HUGE thank you for being such a good guy to all of us on Hoot Island. Thursday was a long day, but boy, was it phun (that's the way parrotheads spell something that begins with an 'f').

Everyone at our Hoot Island II celebration sang your praises. In fact, all of the officers who stopped by Thursday were just top rate.

[Insert your own message to Officer Frankie here]

Thanks, again, from everyone at Hoot Island.

Your pal,
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.
My love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain.

Posting things as they come to me during unpacking ...

A HUGE shout out to Patrick and Chad for taking this old woman on the parking lot tour (got so much swag on that run) ... and for being so sweet to take me to and from the show.

There's no way I could have done it without ya'll.

Hoot Island II: A perfect paradise.
