Not a lot of details yet. Seems very sudden...he was scheduled to play near my place in 2 weeks.
Apparently he had chest pains last night, so he went to the hospital to get checked.

DEAR GOD!!!
Very devastating news.
When I was 15 & 16, I used to live for Monday nights to watch the Monkees TV show. (Even saw their movie).
I think my favorite Monkee song(s) by Davy Jones were "Look Out Here Comes Tomorrow". "The Poster", "Early Morning Blues & Greens", and "Shades of Gray."
I don't mind saying the tears are flowing right now. No more Beatles, no more Monkees, no more Garry Joseph's youth.
Davy Jones was a warm. wonderful, GENUINE human being.
I cannot imagine anyone meeting him and NOT loving the man. :-(:-(

WOW! They were our heart throb when we were in 3rd grade!
I remember singing their theme song...
Hey, hey, we're the monkees
And people say we monkey around,
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.
