Maybe we should start posting on the Margarillas FB page - they're always so cheerful about the tour. Maybe the word would get back that the fans are getting restless and their money is going elsewhere.
OK, I gave it a shot.. they ain't budging:
me: Any idea when the summer tour dates will be announced? A lot of Parrothead's summers on hold until we know! Fins UP!!!
Margarillas Response: You think your summer's on hold? We're still hoping to be employed by then
Was worth a try!

Not to put a negative spin out there, but if we remember correctly last year the west coast kept waiting n waiting.
Do you think with this messed up scheduke JB is putting out that he might actually take the summer off and skip the east coast summer dates.
Then start up again in the fall n continue to vegas n maybe back east to indoor shows like Mohegan or MSG and the like.
Somebody did say they wanted rumors!!!

Thanks for sharing! I've said this before, I've almost ceased caring except for all the out of town folks I won't see. Our NE group can always gather for a Cape weekend.familyof5parrottheads wrote:RumFan wrote:ScarletB wrote:Maybe we should start posting on the Margarillas FB page - they're always so cheerful about the tour. Interesting response from the Margarillas! "still hoping to be employed"??? Why wouldn't they be employed? Maybe if there was no summer tour????RumFan wrote:ScarletB wrote:Maybe we should start posting on the Margarillas FB page - they're always so cheerful about the tour. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

It was March 16th when Alpine was finally confirmed last year, Nancy. I remember you bumping my request up for me! I don't think your show was confirmed much earlier.Saltx3 wrote:We were thinking it was the mid-end of March last year when the WTF tour dates started coming out for the east coast area.....NewToTheForum wrote:It's been about ten days since a date has been announced. Last night (Louisville) was pretty clearly Ilo's last day on the job with JB, at least for a while. (Paraphrasing: Thanks to Ilo and the boys for being on the tour and good luck wherever life takes you next.)

Re: Best tour date rumors
A friend of mine and were talking about this over breakfast today. He works for a local radio station and although this station (WFNX) is not known for playing Buffett style music they do have numerous affiliations with vendors/concert management at numerous venues/and unreleased press information. He admits he knows nothing for certain but it is interesting that this year is far different from any other year for how Jimmy Buffett and his staff are approaching their tour. It does seem possible that Jimmy Buffett is now going to schedule more lengthy tours that last for however long (like how WTF Tour is apparently not ending) and will not necessarily result in predictable annual dates for the common venues he has been known to play.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Jon, after our "conversation" yesterday on the GW thread, I frankly don't care, we can organize our own fun if we need to. I'm willing to bet that some of the out of towners would actually make the trip anyway.drunkpirate66 wrote:A friend of mine and were talking about this over breakfast today. I'm with you. Imagine what 15 - 20 of us could do if we each pooled the 150$ we shell out to Jimmy?
(A private Carribean sail with a Jimmy Buffett cd playing and rum drinks in hand for starters.).

Jimmy should do a YouTube video where he announces all the shows at once. That way everybody will know what's going on.
Wait. Nevermind......

Re: Best tour date rumors
Maybe since he's out west, and his management office is out west , and he doesn't play till the 8th. Just maybe they will brainstorm , dot the i's cross the t's, and finalize the tour in the next couple of days. Then , announce by weeks end.chippewa wrote:Jimmy should do a YouTube video where he announces all the shows at once. That way everybody will know what's going on.
