Hell, I'll play. My name's Eric, I've been around the board since early 2001. Raised in a small central FLA town, went to the University of Florida, lived in Gainesville for 11 years, and now live in the 'burbs outside of Orlando. I used to cook for a living, most recently in the test kitchens at the corporate offices of a large restaurant company, and now have been "promoted" far enough up the food chain that my days in the kitchen are few and far between.
Been listening to Buffett since the early '80's, first show was at the O'Dome in 1986 (Floridays tour); now well over 20 shows, best of which was the Duval St show during MOTM in 2011 (and no, much to the chagrin and incredulousness of many of the folks we met down there, I'm not in a PHC. I subscribe to the philosophy of Groucho Marx; "I wouldn't be a part of any club that would have me as a member", or words to that effect). I would say I'm squarely in the camp of the old Church of Buffett, Orthodox, and am not a big fan of most of the "trop rock" genre, though I do admire and enjoy Frinzi's work.
As I said, been around since 2001, but don't post as much as I did. Used to converse with oldtimers such as 3/4 Time, mismagic, AlbatrossFlyer, and JasonMason35215 quite a bit; I think they haven't been seen around these parts for years.
Get down to the Keys around twice a year, and when we do, my usual haunts are Alabama Jack's, No Name Pub, the Half Shell, Capt. Tony's, and Schooner Wharf (with some Irish Kevin's thrown in for some good raunchy fun).
Look forward to being a little more active and talking with y'all.

Almost forgot how to use this. It's been awhile, 2 or so years since I've hung out here and I miss it and all the fine, wonderful people I've gotten to meet (not meat) here. So here goes....
I'm Jim (aka wheatsailor) from the middle of nowhere in Kansas. My first experience with BN, I was just trying to find a tailgate for the Frisco Show (way back when) since it was close to home, having been to one up north and not having a clue as to all the goings on involved with preshow madness, I wanted the full experience. Boy did I find it here. Thanks to all the Texas crew that welcomed me with open arms on that chilly day in March. It was the start of something truly magical.
I've been away for the past 2 years for a variety of reasons, some good, some bad, some down right ugly. I won't focus on the last 2 because it has kept from the happy place that is BN. The good of it all is that my daughter, Kara (a lot of you have met her at Frisco) found the right man and got married last year (hence my disappearing from last years festivities of Hoot Island II, not to mention the ill timed Thursday show, and this year, despite repeated requests of an earlier date so I could properly introduce him to the Phamily, the birth of my grandson Coen two days before Frisco. Devin and I are happy campers in that respect.
I do miss all my friends that I have met here and don't regret any of the travels I have made to meet (not meat

) all the fine people that make up Buffett News in person. I am hoping to see so many more of you in the future.
If you are new here and wondering about all these characters you see, you won't regret a minute of it. There are life long friendships to be made here, even if they or you tend to disappear for a while, they will always be there for you.
I've missed you my phriends and hope to see all of you soon.

Hi, I'm Bob and I got into Jimmy through my wife, Marleen. She became a Jimmy fan while on a trip home, hungover and bought the Havana Day Dreamin cassette tape and heard the song My Head Hurts, My feet Stink, and I don't love Jesus. She immediately knew there was a connection and has followed him from the early days when he was still growing and playing very small venues. She took me to my first Buffett concert over 30 years ago and I was hooked. Our kids have been raised on his music and now our grandkids know him well.
We have travelled all over the United States to see him and also to Paris. We will be once again making a trip to Paris this year to see him twice in two days. We don't know the exact amount of concerts we have attended but it is over 30 for me, so she has gone to even more. I quote him almost every day as I find some situation that applies to either a way of life or a philosophy. I guess I am a Buffett-holic but I wear it proudly!
One of the biggest things I love about a Buffett concert besides Jimmy and the Reefers is the other fans and/or Parrotheads. There is no other group so friendly as they are. We have never been to a bad tailgate, but the best tailgate we have been to was in Boston....those people are absolutely FINTASTIC! We hope to see many more JB concerts and meet many more parrotheads.. Fins UP!

Hey,
Long Time Parrothead, first time posting.
My first concert was the Chameleon Caravan Tour in '93 with my shark painted Station Wagon (with dorsal fin) back in High School.
I just saw Buffett at his small fundraising show in Boston in June which was amazing. I'm in the Boston area - part of PHCOEM and NHPHC. I joined last year and it's changed my life. Met lots of great friends over this past year. I should have done this much earlier.
I'm Heading to MOTM for the first time this October. Can't wait! I may drive down the eastern seacoast and make a road trip out of it on the way down.
Tonga Tam said for me to drop her name when I posted in here.
Anyway - just wanted to say hi!
