Sail on pghparrothead, Evan, Our Club President

pghparrothead, Evan, is our Pittsburgh Club president, and he has been in the hospital since Saturday February 25. The night of our Cabin Fever.

He was taken to the hospital for pneumonia (60% in his left lung).

With not having all the details, he was heavily sedated (?) to assist in healing. One thought was he could have ARDS, a resportory disorder.

I just got word that they flew him from the hospital he has been in to another. They found heart issues, they need to do more testing, with the potential of surgery this week.

They have a new grandkeet due this summer. And are the grandest of people.

Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

From Evan's wife Kathy:

Evan was in one hospital for what they thought was another bout of pneumonia.

They found out that he has ARDS (Google it) which basically make his lungs more permeable and fluid leaked into his lungs. They intubated him to do a lung scope and try to get some of the fluid out of his lungs. They found that it was more than simply pneumonia.

He was taken to local Pittsburgh Hospital via LifeFlight for more intensive care than they could offer up at the other hospital.

Right now they're checking him out and heavily considering open heart surgery including a mitral valve Replacement and an ablation of the tissue near his aortic valve. The doctors at both facilities are on the same page and think that he should do well as long as they mind the possibility for infection.

Everyone sends prayers out, and Evan and his whole family could really use prayers right now. Thank you so much. They are a great duo, and he is a great President!!
