I tried to go one way out to the main road and encounteres orange barrels and tape that had not been there before I went into the show. There was a line of cars behind me. We were all told to BACK up and go the other direction. Meanwhile cars were going everywhere....

Also - there were NO portapotties in the lot I was in. 0. Nada.
Actually, I'd go the other direction and encourage people not to pay for VIP parking. We had VIP last year and they would not open the lot (except to the local ParrotHead Club) until 4:00pm. We parked at the only lot open and had a heck of a tailgate hours prior to the opening of the lot. ($25 donated to Verizon) VIP does traditionally empty a little quicker, but who's in the hurry to leave the parking lot anyway :pirate: :pirate: :pirate:

Also, we'll be bringing our own portapotty this year. It's the only way to go (literally)

Yes, we had VIP parking and the gates did open at 4:00, but by the time the long line of cars got into the parking lot, it was after 4:30 for us. Did you park in the lot across the street from the venue?
We parked in the lot across the street farthest away from Hwy. 29. We were able to back up to the woods (with the tents behind the vehicles) and had plenty of room to spread out. We'll be in the same lot this year (we'd done VIP at the 3 previous shows)

I think we will too. Save that $25 and get into the parking lot 4 1/2 hours earlier than we did last year. Hope to see you and Elissa this year at the tailgate.

I agree as well with skipping VIP. We had passes for VIP parking but hopped into the lot described here as well, backed right up to the trees. We had a killer time minus the lack of latrines. We'll be making the trek back from Roanoke to this year's show. Can't wait to see y'all there! ___(\___

Definitely agree that the lot across the street is the place to be. These are lots D,E, and F (I think). They usually open around 1:00. As far as the porta-johns go. We were told last year at the Zac Brown show that they will not ever have them in the lots anymore because the venue is held liable for them if they are damaged and they don't want to spend the money.

The lots are across the street from the venue. In past years we tailgated in VIP but with gates not opening until 4pm, we are starting the party a bit earlier this year and going for one of the lots. And, yep a camping potty & tent is the way to go. I bought one about 3 years ago. Best $100.00 I ever spent!

If you are looking at the satellite they are the ones that are right along 485. We used to always park in Lot F but now they fill them in different orders so it is sometimes D or E.

Has anyone heard or even a rumor about Jimmy coming to Raleigh? I see that he and the CRB will be in Atlanta 6/9 [smilie=whistle.gif]
