I agree -- so excited about returning to JB @ JB. I'm hoping to meet some of you guys there! That being said, I don't want to rush the summer. We start the festivities on June 23 @ Great Woods this year! But hubby and I will be at Jones Beach bright and early on 8/30. Last year we arrived around ten, but I understand there is a dawn patrol???
The "dawn" part is in honor of Tropic Al who very sadly left us last year way too early -he was always there before dawn posting sunrise pics -I usually get there in the 11 am time frame -i live further east on Long Island(about an hour+) I will be starting my festivities at Mohegan Sun on June 26

So sorry about your friend . People live on when we remember them -- that's my idea of heaven -- being in your loved ones thoughts. I'm sure the Pope would not be happy with my interpretation, but ... mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa ... We are coming in from Jersey the day before the concert, so we will be @ JB early -- thinking about spending some time on the beach that morning. We will have to figure out a way to meet up. Who is Blue Cups?

Blue Cups are what we use instead of red ones -again because of Tropic Al -he said we would trick the police by using blue cups instead of red ones as a joke & it took off from there!!

Decided to add JB to my summer JB tour sort of as a fluke. My LT and his wife have friends that live a few minutes from the venue and being we are all JB fans decided a road trip would be a good idea!

I think the parking lots open at either 9:00 or 10:00, it used to be sunrise but with budgets cuts the last couple of years they open a little later now. You have to pay to get in, there's a toll booth on the parkway as you're approaching the beach, you pay and they give you a ticket to put on your dashboard once you get to the lot. Last year it was $8. Jones Beach is a state park and in NY that means alcohol free but as long as you don't walk around with a beer bottle or can in your hand you don't have to worry. Pour your drinks in a cup, don't give the state park police a hard time, offer them water or a soda or a burger when they come by and you'll be OK. And it's the beach.
Hi all. Long time lurker, some time poster. My names Rick and my friends name is Maria. We are from North Jersey and wanna know if there's anyone needing a ride to JB@JB. This will be our 3rd JB concert at Jones Beach. The people we were supposed to go with backed out so we have room for 2 more in the car. The more the merrier. Just puttin it out there. Hope to meet up with other BNers at the concert. By the way, we are from the Morris/Sussex county area of NJ.
Can't wait to get my Tiki Bar out of storage and to set it up for JB@JB!!! Looking forward to trying to get the tiki bar set up about 7-8am this year. It will be fun!!!
