Just got another email update from CWMPavilion about the Buffett tickets, but no early presage announced yet.

Just Announced...

Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band
Sat., June 2 at 8 p.m.
Tickets: $136 Res. Pit / $136, $86 & $46 Reserved / $46 Lawn
On Sale: Sat., April 14 at 10 a.m.

At least they have some cheaper prices for their other levels of reserved seats, although the closer the better! :)

So how does lawn here compare to starplex (or whatever it is now)?

I think very similar.
Lawn is a kinda steep hill, so if it rains, you will slide down. :)

Thanks Nancy. It was a lot of work but I'm so glad we did it that way. I've got video of the great cooler race on my facebook page.

REK opened for Jimmy. How cool was that?

I missed most of REK. Lollygagged (i.e. goofed off) too much on the way in.

Janice, you did an awesome job putting that tailgate together. It turned out great! :D

That cooler race was too funny, but also scared this old lady!! You're the best! I'll have to go watch again as that screen saved y'all.

REK was so special that day. Good memories if Minute Maid.

The Woodlands can be just like last year and I'll be happy. Probably will get lots bigger being a Saturday show.

I was only on the lawn one time for Jimmy and it was a weekday night and was pretty subdued. We got there early enough to get right up on the front and there were several young familes with small kids around us, so it stayed pretty calm. I really enjoyed a pretty sedate show with Jerry.

I wouldn't get lawn tickets again though, unless it was all I could get.

Conched: I was there in '95 but I can't remember which show I went to. I had just graduated from college and was about to move away and it was nice to get in Jimmy show right about then. We got our room at the Marriott, so we will be around early to tailgate this year!

Neat! Remember Buffett was playing 5 shows up at Riverbend and something happened and he scheduled those two shows at the very last minute. We had to go to ticket brokers to get tickets, but The Pavilion was way smaller back then. Big surprise shows for me.

I got my first guitar pick at one of those shows. :)

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about doing the lawn (never done it before), but I won't go against your advice on this trip. Hope to see some fellow BNers at The Woodlands.

Keep in touch here to see how the plans progress for tailgating. Where are you coming from?

With the variable pricing for tickets, you can get seats in uncovered pavilion for a good enough price.

Of course, if you get in an area you aren't enjoying on the lawn, it's a lot easier to move. I move around even with reserved seats.

I like to be close enough to see the stage. :D

Last year, we were 3 rows from the back of the uncovered pavillion seats. The people behind us, dressed in business attire kept moaning for us to sit down. He said we should move to the lawn. I told him to feel free to ask security yo move their seats if they were unhappy. Never did go get security but ruined the night for everyone with him.

grams thoroughly enjoyed the businessmen next to us. I ventured away, but they were really into the show and didn't know a thing about Buffett.

If the guy would've asked nicely, it would have been different.

And that's why it is sometimes very difficult to have seats where you are pretty much locked in.

That only happened one time where it was very bad, and I mean bad. I did sit down, until everybody started standing up...even the jerks who started all the stuff were up then. Still had a heck of a good time.

I'm pretty much a lawn person. :D

Much easier to coordinate with friends who dont buy their tickets at the same time, and I really like to dance around.

oh yeah...my birthday is the Monday before the show (Memorial Day), so I'm just going to go ahead and consider the tailgate my birthday party. Telling all my friends to come out to the tailgate and "see a parrothead in his natural habitat" that day.

Can't wait. Had a blast meeting some of you BNers last year. :D
