WHY DALLAS ON THURSDAY?!??

Post by Tbonemyers »

My wife and I have spent the past 5 years at Pizza Hut Park enjoying a long wonderful weekend sharing in the love and unique atmosphere of the "Land of the Parrotheads and Landsharks!" We bring our RV and tailgate with friends from 3 different states! We break out Flamingo and Parrot costumes that we've bought over the years (I'm 6'3" and we have 2 large male parrots and at least 5 Flamingo ladies strolling thru the parking lots every year!)

We were so dissapointed when we started calling our friends to set up this year's "Weekend In Paradise" and found out they had moved the event to Thursday night at GEXA Energy?!?

What a loss! The event at Pizza Hut Park has been wildly successful for years.

I realize that Jimmy doesn't make decisions like this (and that it probably has something to do with GexaEnergy giving a better price on the facility or whatever) BUT COME ON?! THURSDAY???
Even if they had to rework the schedule to make it Friday the weekend could move to the new facility. . . BUT THURSDAY?

Unfortunately we can't all take off in the middle of the week and lose Thursday Friday to the bliss of J.B. and the Parrotheads!@#$%^

Have fun folks!
(Maybe next year they'll get it back together for a weekend concert in Dallas!?)

We all can't have weekend.
ATL has been a week night forever, or so it seems.

We are just glad that he is still coming to our State.

Hi, Tbone. Welcome to BN.

I'm just happy Jimmy's still playing ANYWHERE ... he could quit touring and take up surfing full time.

Wish it was on a weekend, but a lot of us are going to make the best of it at Hoot Island II ... at the far end of the Starplex parking lot. It'll be smaller than our parties in Frisco, but most of us are just happy to be seeing Jimmy and the Reefers one more time.

Phins UP.

It's where we had the original Hoot Island in 2006. Magic day for most of us old timers. Wish you could be there. We'll post photos in the Dallas thread. Will toss a couple back in your honor, too!

Contrary to popular belief, there are only 104 weekend nights in a year (out of a possible 365). Mathematicians have been working on increasing that, but they keep running up against this thing called a "Universal Truth" which is that a 7 day week can only support 2 weekend nights out of 7. The problem with that is there are only so many weekend shows that can happen. That being said, some of the best nights I've had in my life (and not to brag, but I've had a lot of great nights) were not weekends.

Just saying.

I like a Thursday show. It makes for a long weekend. I guess I'm lucky enough to have a job where if I wanted to take off a couple of days at any time, I can do so.

Feel free to come down to The Woodlands (Houston) on June 2 for the show. This has been a weekday show in the past but this year, we got a weekend.

The Woodlands started allowing tailgating a couple of years ago. I have a feeling with this show on Saturday, it will be one to remember. It will be HOT too.
I must be wishing on someone else's star....
