I hope he still has a couple years left but when do you think his last summer tour will be? I'm hoping the last tour is all acoustic and smaller venues....
Fins up!

i could see him taking a year off and do some small venues here and there , Margaritaville's , Jazz Fest type things. Recharge himself a bit . But , i don't think he would give up touring.....i think he has to to promote his products and restaurants...out of site out of mind.

Radio margaritaville announced his plans to call it quits after this tour, so better grabbed up all the tickets you can and scalp most as they will garner a premium price.
thats what you were looking for right.

I don't believe too much of what RM says. Agree with Jack...JB will retire when he's ready. I do hope he has at least a few more tours left in him though.

It seems that he is circling his tours closer and closer to the gulf coast constantly dropping in on New Orleans, Picking up Birmingham, Nashville, Atlanta, The Florida shows. The hotel in Pensacola, the casinos in Missisippi (complete with 17,000 seat concert venue), Louisiana, the hunting club in South Georgia, I truly think he is planning on turning the coast into his own personal Branson in the next few years. When you read about what his casinos offer his employees, look at what he did for the residents with the oil spill it becomes clear that he is truly getting his roost ready for his own style of retirement.
I don't think he will ever completely retire from the road I do see him trimming it back a good bit though but one thing that you as fellow parrotheads and observers of Jimmy have noticed over the years is that he never forgets those who have shown him love in the past. And that means us, the ones who have packed the shows and bought the records, tapes, cd,s mp3 downloads and what ever is next for years will be remembered.
Jimmy lives both on the water and on the stage. When someone says to close your eyes and go to your "happy place" I believe he imagines himself in one of those places.
When Jimmy decides to hang it up I'll miss him and his shows but I won't hold it against him, he has more than earned it.

Wasn't looking for anything, was just a question to discuss. Some on this board should actually listen to Jimmy's lyrics and relax.

So I just got off the phone with Jimmy.
He says "not for years and not to start stupid threads and then get all p*** when a bunch of sarcastic Parrotheads make jokes about a question no one can answer and to go buy all my products and live the Margaritaville lifestyle which all good Parrot Heads should so."
Verbatim.

True....but , he is in his mid 60's and there aren't to many his age that tour every year like he does. He'll go until he gets burnt out of the traveling part of touring. Then become like Wayne Newton in Vegas, and plays at his Casino or Casino's. But , until that happens , i don't see it happening soon!!.....i also think his last tour would be stadiums...MA another Fenway , Chicago Wrigley.

From a purely business perspective....
Jimmy will retire after Margaritaville Inc. goes public.
Until then, he is the face of the brand identity and the value of the Margaritaville brand will significantly diminish if he isn't out there selling er, touring, releasing albums etc. The basic problem is the brand doesn't transcend the rabid consumerism of the parrothead flock. And without Jimmy touring the flock flies away. Once Jimmy maximizes the value of Margaritaville Inc. and then cashes out by going public its only a matter of time before retirement.
Business School 101.....

I agree man. We were all new around here at some point (and I remember a few posts from one member who responded sarcastically) and there were some posts that had been treaded over quite a bit that we all tend to rehash. So what? We all "get it" and would like the good times to extend as long as possible. We all have a special moment that really connected us with Jimmy, whether it be the music itself, relationships forged, discovered identity, or opportunity. Also, some may post sarcastically to try to prove their "wealth of knowledge" or try to fit in w/ others on the board. I think it's a lot simpler being concerned with neither.

Springsteen doesn't tour every year.....when was the last time he toured???.....i have to work a Merle Haggard show next week...if he is still alive for it!!.....Jimmy probably is the only 60 plus, that tours yearly was my point!!!....KISS has to be pushing 60 as does Aerosmith...again , they don't tour every year
