47 years ago in november, i used to live in livonia. i have not been back. no reason for that, other than there is always some place else to go. like vegas for instance. but to be able to see... j w b... in the home of my first baseball team, i think i can do this. hopefully the airlines will come with up with a lower fare, than what is currently showing on the various travel sites. so can any one reccomend a cheap hotel motel near comerica?

What do you mean "no reason for that"??? You arent one of the ex-pat michiganders who does nothing but bash the state because you left are you?

There are two types of hotels downtown Expensive but very nice rooms at the Casino's or the Book caddy, and the cheap ass hotels you dont want to stay in.

If you want a cheap hotel , look to the burbs. Novi/northville will have nicer rooms that arent bad in price, Birmingham will have the best burb hotels but they are more expensive than downtown. Dearborn is not to far and has some cheap hotels that are bad but nothing outstanding. Double tree is one to look at.

all depends on what your looking to do and how long your staying. If your just coming in for the show and leaving right away your best bet might be a taxi to a casino hotel from the airport and back. If your staying awhile longer and getting a rental then the burbs would serve you better but you're gonna have to deal with parking downtown and driving to the hotel after.

was just wondering. You should be able to find something that you'll be happy with. Comerica is a very modern nice stadium. It still doesnt have the feel of Tiger Stadium yet, maybe never will. That would be a worthwhile thing to do since you havent been back since the 60's to visit the site of Tiger Stadium. Its now just literally "the corner" with people bringing down mowers on their free time to try to preserve what remains of the field.

According to broker sites that I've looked at, there will be reserved seating on the field with general admission on the field located behind it. Check out this:

http://www.ticketnetwork.com/tickets/ji ... it-mi.aspx

I kind of like this. I wouldn't mind getting general admission on the field. It'll still be close and quite a party. Doing fins where Austin Jackson roams is okay by me!

I am so bummed. My son is away for camp this summer and "parents day" is 07/28. There is no way I can get there leaving at 5:00 pm, from two hours north of Toronto, in time for show time. Hope you all have fun. And for all those who are not looking forward to this show, give it a shot. I personally think the City of Detroit is an armpit, however, Comerica Park is a great place and there is not a bad seat in the house.

Well, I can definitively say that the special guest will not be Kenny Chesney- he's playing in Indy that night.

I've been saying for awhile that Zac has a big hole in his tour schedule and I would expect him to be the special guest. Im sure they wouldnt say "special guest" if it was Ilo or Jake , since they are part time reefers.

I also would think that Lionel Richie showing up would not be out of the question, he was with Motown for a long time.

ps did you see that broker wants 700 apiece for reserved field and 500 for section 121 in the stands. lol....f'ing brokers
