There is also the Best Western Cristata Inn right down the road from there as well as a Holiday Inn a few miles away in Norwich, CT. I'm going to the show and luckily I live 5 mins from the Sun!! My only hope is to be out of work on time...seems like whenever I even think of having plans I end up getting stuck at work much later than needed!

There is also a Springhill (I think think that's the name of the Marriott Property) Suites on Frontage Road off of I-95, these hotels, the Microtel stated above, also, check in with Foxwoods to see if they have a deal too.

on route 2 right before foxwoods is Bellissimo Grande too, they usually have a good weeknight rate for rooms. Also a B&B in Preston on rte 2A heading towards the Sun called Captain Grant's Inn...and its rumored to be haunted!

Forgot about the Bellissimo Grande. Stayed there once. Quaint.

Me too! Nice little place. And there is an awesome Italian restaurant right near there now and the plaza next door is turning into a thriving area.

There are a few hotels/motels in Groton too, you can shoot up route 12 to get to the Sun from that area as well.

Think we booked Marriot Springfield, they have a shuttle to and from the Sun.
We are going to park and tailgate then take shuttle back to hotel, sure im going to be over the limit. pick up car in morning.

Thought I would share this with you. Rules for tailgating at Mohegan Sun!
MOHEGAN SUN TAILGATE DETAILS!

Thank you all for your patience. I have heard from Mohegan, and here is the scoop from their security team:

1. Winter Lot will open for entry @ 11am for only patrons with tickets. No ticket no entry.
2. No sand will be allowed at all.
3. No Boats will be permitted as we understand parrot heads have their own “Navy” at some events (I think by "navy" she really meant Pirate ships. LOL.)
4. Propane tanks up to and including 20 lb max - no open flame such as wood fires.
5. RVs will be able to park @ 11, same as all other vehicles .
6. During the show, pholks can remain in the parking lot until they want to leave - we will not force anyone to exit.
7. We will capture the entire Winter lot for tailgating, though inside that area there will NOT be a special area for Parrothead club members only. The only area reserved inside the lot will be VIP area. (This is where the caravan in becomes important.)
8. There is no glass everything needs to be in plastic cups. Event Security will be roving to enforce and ask patrons to make sure they are using Red Solo Cups. (Ok, I made up the Red Solo Cup party - they just want plastic.)

SOOOOO... Now that we've got the ground rules, stay tuned for details on where to meet and at what time to be there so we can have a phantastic time!

We have Jimmy Buffet tickets to sell. It's Tuesday June 26th at mohegan sun. I have 4 tickets in section 105 row k, 4 aisle seats in section 105 row m and 2 floor seats section 7 row A. Micrtotel guests, be wary of that Chili's right near there, service is awful! Of course there is the Margaritaville restaurant right in the Sun to enjoy, and also in the Sun is Bobby's Burger Palace (ah-mazing), Sol Toro Tequila Grille, Summer Shack, Frank Pepe's Pizza are a few good choices as is the buffet(t) but I recommend to stay away from Big Bubba's BBQ, the only thing I got hot there my last time there was the heated towel at the end of the meal!

Ok... Possible changes in plans for me. Does anyone want to take over a suite at Foxwoods? Not as close to Mohegan as Microtel, but still close enough. I'm still going but just a slight change.

How much? I couldn't grab any comps for Foxwoods that night Its wierd i usually get good rates mid week.

i'll be down...hopefully around 4ish...not sure if i'll come out to tailgate ,or go to Margaritaville!!!
