Saw the setlist.....nothing special. I really wish Jimmy would mix it up more, but I guess at this point he won't.....
How was the crowd? Just curious......

It was a lot of the usual for AC. The floor was standing but many other sections were all sitting. From where I was the sound was actually not bad. For the last song he was the only one left on stage. The venue even turned on the lights on him. He still played Tin Cup Chalice even though it wasn't on the setlist that sistergoldenhair got a picture of.Bfan53again wrote:Saw the setlist.....nothing special. Thanks for the update........I've lost track of how many concerts I've seen where JB sings "Tin Cup Chalice" as the final encore.......Born to Rum wrote:It was a lot of the usual for AC. Tom, that was School Girl Heart with the pic. She was front row!!! Fabulous time with BN'ers as usual, many, many MANY thanks to Sunset Chef for including yes i am a and I in his comps!!!! I thought the crowd was better than the last time we went to AC. More people standing and dancing, we stood for the whole show and NO ONE said sit down! We were cooked thoroughly at the Beach Bar though, it was steamy. Thanks to Born to Rum for finding the Mountain bar with the CHEAP drinks($2 shots and beers, $3 well drinks) and AIR conditioning. Ducktown, according to some who were there, was dead! No live music, just a DJ. Hope Duckett had a good time, we didn't see him at all.

Re: Who's Going To Atlantic City August 4th???
Random thoughts.... I thought it was a good show. Jimmy sounded a little hoarse at times but I don't care. I've seen him between 30 & 40 times and at 65 I'm thrilled he's still doing shows! I had to go to work at 5am so I was pretty much sober but that did not keep me from telling some lady behind me to go F herself when she told me to sit down thirty seconds in to the show. Security came over and I told them - move me or move her - but I'm not sitting down unless I want to. That was the end of it. Loved "All Night Long". Did not look at a set list from any other shows so I would be surprised.
Looking forward to Camden. I will not be sober! Glad we're taking bus or I'd be skipping that show. Hate the way the city & parking authority handle things. Enough said.....

for what it is worth, we really enjoyed the show, even having club seats that while they were a little bit "up there", they were center stage which was nice. Thought the accoustics were better than the lasst time we saw him in AC. The acoustic set was the highlight for me. And he did "Piece of Work" which is our keet's favorite song (which she thinks he wrote about her!)!

Re: Who's Going To Atlantic City August 4th???
Thanks -- I meant to say that I'm not the SGH who had the setlist
I guess we will say that I am lower case sgh!! And I was in section 107, so nowhere near setlist!! LOL. But if the nice guy who called us over to his table at Sammy's Beach Bar to make sure we got his seats when they left is on this board, props, shout out, and thanks! You saved us from heatstroke! It was lovely to meet you , your wife, and your adorable daughter who was mortified that you made her approach us! So cute. AC had a much more groovy vibe than I remembered from Summerzcool.
I'm just tryin to get by, being quiet and shy, in a world full of pushin and shove
Re: Who's Going To Atlantic City August 4th???
Too bad I missed you guys, we hung out at the beach bars all day then did Ceasar's buffet to carry us thru. Would've liked to see Gingerbread Man & wife again, met them in Tampa a few years ago.

Re: Who's Going To Atlantic City August 4th???
Sound was great where we were...and the crowd was wonderfully odd. Had this been our only show it would've have sucked as none of them had any notion to get up and boogie outside of the the "big ones." It was like we were in a section entirely made up of folks who were having their big night out without the kids (or grandkids), but they still felt the need to sit after 5 seconds of "song recognition."
But with this show wedged between Great Woods and Camden and our seats being right on the side of the stage, we were ok with sitting and watching (and listening) to the tourists. That, in and of itself, is a show. People who don't go to any rock shows often are a funny ass group to eaves-drop on.
AC is a weird f'n place. I still like it, but it's getting too weird to be sober at all there.
I hope an undersold Camden can give another kick ass Great Woods show a run for its money.
