I find myself really missing a quiet acoustic final encore. How about you?

I prefer the acoustic closing, but I also appreciate that Jimmy is trying to change things up and break out of the old routine. So I can live with a rocking end for now.

Even though I appreciate the "rocking out the final song" to get everyone pumped, I think an acoustic song is a good to say good night.

I've loved the acoustic finales Jimmy has played. I think you've got to be there live to get the full effect of "All Night Long" as the final song. They were so pumped playing it in Omaha. You could see they were having a good time.

I too prefer the acoustic encores. Much like the quiet cuddling after the climactic crescendo. :D

Liking the "All Night Long" encore. I know I woke up the morning after the Omaha show and it was still dancing through my head.

Generally prefer the acoustics. In fact, just now listening to Encores and loving it.

But All Night Long was great...perfect vibe for Jimmy and the CRB. Nadirah was amazing, too.

Love just Jimmy & his guitar at the end of a show
I do want him to include "All Night Long" in the next tour but he should open with it -so he is telling us "all night long" Are you listening Jimmy?????

This is a tough one. I'm a big fan of the up-tempo upbeat stuff...thus I thouroughly enjoy leaving a show babbling about how that last song "kicked azz"! I also normally associate a slow-burner, softer kind of tune as something on the sad side. Don't want to leave a show with that taste in my mouth. I've completely enjoyed "Tin Cup" as a show closer, but find "Lovely Cruise" to be the sad show closer I just mentioned.
Final answer............give me Jimmy doing 1 of the classics accoustically 2nd from the last, but I'll take "All Night Long", "One Particular Harbor", "Fins"...something upbeat at the very end!

Gotta agree with Dr. Corona.  A Buffett concert is as much about the Coral Reefers as it is about Jimmy.  A slow, sensitive ballad like "Love in the Library" (which, according to the database, has *NEVER* been performed live on tour) done acoustically during the final encore would be great, but bring the whole band back out for the ultimate last song.  Cut loose, blow the roof off the place, and send everybody out of there with that final jolt of energy.

Definitely the acoustic solo to finish the show.

What most people want to see is Jimmy and his guitar. They want what they perceive to be the Key West bar room Jimmy singing songs about Key West and the beach and making little jokes here and there throughout as he smiles. Key West has atleast 50 acoustic solo guitar performers playing right now somewhere at some bar because that is the legacy Jimmy left behind and the subsequent empire he has built from it. I wish 50% or more of his concerts were just him and his guitar quite honestly. No disrespect to the CRB but to me a Jimmy Buffett concert and the magic it creates for people stems from those 1 - 3 acoustic solos. And I think the man knows it.

Yeah, I love the acoustic song as being the last one. But I also prefer acoustic music as a personal preference.

I agree I prefer the acoustic. Last night I loved All Night Long.. but was ready for Jimmy to come back with just his guitar. Most of the people just kept on clapping before we realized that was it... game over... That said I'm just glad he is up there singing at all!!

It's funny.. of all the shows I've been to, I only remember one of the final encores. It was Defying Gravity, and yep, it was acoustic. :D

I was there. DAMN RIGHT IT WAS THE BEST. (Followed closely by "City of New Orleans" to close out the Wrigley Field show in 2005, featuring just Jimmy & Mac-this was in the days following Hurricane Kaitrina).

That being said, I guess I'd say most of us are USED to Jimmy closing out the show with an accoustic ballad, so we've come to pretty much expect it. I was at Omaha too and hearing "All Night Long" blew me away. Even Larry said he hopes it's played at every show.
But hearing "Gypsies In the Palace" to close out the show in Des Moines left everybody there scratching their heads. It's a great song, to be sure, but as the last one for the night, I'd have to think about that.
