Jimmy appears from inside a huge, red book. Remember?

Who recalls what year Jimmy surprised the
audience by appearing on stage, hidden
inside a big, red book? The book was opened
and he walked out on stage.

I'd love to find a picture or a video of it
somewhere...

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Wow. I totally don't remember that! I'd love to see it too! :D

I remember the opening of the Recession Recess tour Jimmy was hidden a large red parrot suit while a large prop TV played "Margarita-vision"

We were talking about that last night in Charlotte. I think it was around 1997 - 1998 - Domino College Tour, he came out of a large "yearbook" and they brought folks up on the stage who played the part of notable figures from Jimmy's past like his high school girl friend.

Here's a photo of the book's inside cover. One of the
comments reads, "Good luck class of '95," so I wonder
if that's the year.

Here's a listing of the band members for the '95 tour.
There are signatures from:

Jimmy Buffett
Greg “Fingers” Taylor
Michael Utley
Peter Mayer
Jim Mayer
Michael Tschudin
John Lovell
Amy Lee

Right underneath the Lobby at "4" comment is a
signature from...I can't tell. This is where I get my possible
signatures below. It's likely from one of the two, but I don't
have original autographs to compare them to.

Possible signatures:
Roger Guth – Drums
Robert Greenidge – Steel Drums

Not signed, or unreadable are:
Ralph MacDonald – Percussion
T.C. Mitchell – Saxophone
Nadirah Shakoor – Vocals
Claudia Cummings – Vocals
Tina Gullickson – Vocals

What's up with the Father Ciccoline comment, or the
Johnny Martini note, or the White Meat thing?

Also, regarding the White Sox Pennsylvania comment by
John Lovell--in '95, the band played two dates in Pittsburgh
at the Star Lake Amphitheater, June 15 and 17. That's
the closest I can come to making sense of the Pennsylvania
reference.

Domino College Tour, maybe?

Sorry no help with photo. It took an act of congress to get photos at shows back then. Cameras were usually confiscated and film taken out of them if they caught you. I will check my Coconut Telegraphs for mention of that happening at the shows.

This board has to be from the 1995 Domino College tour because Michael Tschudin is only listed as a band member during that tour. The Fruitcakes tour ran until April, 1995 but Michael is not listed as a and member during that tour, nor is he listed in the 1996 Bannana Wind tour.

Johnnie Martini is John Lovell's alter ego.

This is the first tour for Tina and Nadirah so maybe they were "missed" when getting signatures.

that was from domino college tour

I saw that show 2 or 3 times in Raleigh and then elsewhere. Wore my mortar board if I recall (finished my degree in civil engineering the year before).

It was a big book and they flipped the pages and the last was Buffett jumping through the pages to start the show. Domino College was the first song.
